Not the cheapest establishment, but 6 out of 7 dishes at our table were raved about. Personally, it's been years since I've ordered a pizza, asked for salt and pepper and condiments, as is my habit, and not felt the need to use a single one. My pizza was generously topped, perfectly seasoned, and in no need of anything extra - downright delicious! We arrived without a booking and were offered a few tables. After given the menu we were notified that some items were not available from the menu. We ordered a focaccia for the table which was over done and very crispy. We placed our orders and due to being freshly prepared the waiting time was more than normal. We ordered 2 pasta dishes, 1 chicken dish and 1 panzerotti dish. The food was very nice and tasty with all the dishes being prepared to expectation. This well known Italian gem is one of Southbrooms hidden secrets. Well positioned on the Umkobi river has fantastic birding opportunities. The staff welcomed us with genuine friendliness. Our waiter was courteous and at pains to explain specials, wine menu and dishes of the day. The restaurant was busy yet we were kept informed and encouraged to look forward to delicious food. Picturesque setting and beautiful views. The food was great, and the service was awesome. Pizzas were not available due to the cook not being there but will certainly return as all mains were delicious and loved the pavlova. An absolutely gorgeous setting under the trees, overlooking the river. The food is delicious, of course slightly more expensive but this is to be expected for this standard of meal. The service was top notch too. There is a gate that has access to a beautiful beach. If you want to spoil someone, then this place is very highly recommended! Nothing beats the little corner table overlooking the Umkobi Lagoon on a warm summer day! The most beautiful Italian cuisine is lovingly prepared in this eatery that never disappoints! My salmon was again perfectly prepared and my guests thoroughly enjoyed their gorgonzola pasta and accordingly it was the best liver pate to be found on the KZN South Coast.

Great place. Food, service, and atmosphere were excellent. Not once waited more than 3 minutes for a drinks order, and food was perfectly presented less than 30 minutes from orders. Such a cute little spot! Love the little bits & pieces added to the interior decor. Was cold when we were there but I'm sure the patio would be an amazing space to have an Italian lunch. My boyfriend and I went to lunch at this restaurant, we felt overlooked and unattended to in an undecorated atmosphere. The owner seemed diligent in checking on every table except ours, we suspect the reason being as we are early 20s and she really just didn’t care to give us the time of day. The service was sluggish, and even a simple request for water took an unacceptable 30 minutes. Unfriendly staff. Additionally, the food, despite its expensive price, was bland and failed to meet our expectations. Will definitely not be returning. The food was absolutely amazing in the end! We started the evening off feeling disappointed as we called ahead to confirm that they had pizza as the kids were desperately wanting pizza for dinner. When we ordered we were told that unfortunately they had run out of pizza dough at 18h30! This left the kids feeling disappointed but we decided to stay and ordered other meals which turned out to be incredible! Everything was super tasty and definitely worth going again! Service was fab apart from no pizza. Lol... gourmet little restaurant in the most beautiful location! Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
