Τoscano Brothers has probably surpassed Daily Driver as the best bagel bakers in San Francisco. All their bagels are boiled but Tony Gemigniani puts his own Italian twist to the recipe and the result is an eye-opening, fresh and very chewy bagel with perfect texture. All their pastries and sandwiches are what you would expect: elevated and decadent. Kudos to their Detroit style pizza; perfectly made with a nutty, cheesy artisan crust topped with high-end mozzarella. This pie is better than anything I've had in Detroit that's for sure. Fresh bread in North Beach. Finally! Delicious sourdough baguettes that seem to get more sour as the day progresses, a variety of bagels, with all the trimmings, and special loaves with delicious and interesting ingredients, including an olive loaf with rosemary grown right on the premises. And, they have an espresso machine! With them opening at 8am on Sundays, fresh bagels for breakfast can be a wonderful new tradition for the neighborhood.
Anything Tony G touches or starts is golden. This is one awesome bakery. Loved the fresh bread and bagels. Great staff and family atmosphere. Got a bottle of hot pepper olive oil to dip the bread and to dribble it on the awesome large pizza we picked up at Tony's Slices pizza restaurant on Stockton Street. Its been 11 months since my last review. Tony G should be given the Key to North Beach. He's got the golden touch. Anything he touches becomes a success. Both more 'Dagon Bagels' along with two of the best loaves of bread ever. The chocolate and cheery bread is so divine. The olive oil, fig, and walnut loaf is one of the best loaves that we have tasted ever. It didn't even last a day between the 2 of us.

What a delightful bakery in North Beach! Was attracted to the mint green paint job and then in awe of the delicious breads and pastries in the window. Ended up getting a Serrano pepper cheese bagel and a “Detroit style” bagel. Both were delicious. Smaller than I’m used to, but so dense, flavorful and covered in cheese! The woman working the counter was very friendly and offered espresso. Next time!

Low-key some of the best bread in The Bay Area I had the Cherry-chocolate batard and the Rosemary-piattina. Right out of the oven fresh. Loaded with flavor with all that good chew, fluff and crunch.

Come for the BREAD. I tried the dried cherry and chocolate loaf and it was so unique. It is an excellent loaf of bread.
The bagels and bread are both amazing! The sour cherry chocolate loaf is incredible as is the Sunday loaf, which has a ton of stuff I would never think to add to bread but which works together beautifully. The ciabatta is great! The rosemary olive loaf is a favorite. Amazing food and wonderful and friendly staff :)
The staff was very friendly. Bagels were small but very well made. Anywhere that offers salt bagels is doing it right in my book!
