I was in town recently for a wedding and had the pleasure of visiting Toomey Tap Room. The food was delivered quickly and was quite delicious. The grilled chicken sandwich was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The bun was light and fluffy and went well with the toppings. The beer had great taste and my wife loved her margarita. The fries were also quite good. A fun outdoor atmosphere.
Coworkers and I would come in here maybe once a week on our lunch break. Went in today and the bit is up. We would talk and laugh about the bad service and cold food. But this burger came out not on the bottom bun. Cool whatever. The joke at work is, “I never leave satisfied.” Bartender never said anything and maybe I should have because he charged me for it. Literally go anywhere else and save your money.

Great little patio to bring your furry friend to have some food and drinks. Friendly staff and tasty eats. Espresso vodka martini 🤤
Service here was amazing! Patrick was outstanding. Really great energy. First time here and loved the positive energy and enthusiasm he showed my group when he served us all night (my friends could drink lol). Would recommend this place. Good beers.
I give it a 3.5 for now. I really liked the layout of the place. The outside patio is very nice, with plenty of TVs to watch the game or games. Good selection of beer and the chili cheese fries I had were good. The burger I had, was OK I got the Mexican one with queso, grilled poblano, tortillas chips..etc. The first burger I had was dressed way better with a good amount of cheese. But It had mayo on it which is not in the description, so I recorded and it came out very lackluster, barely any queso on it. FYI you can only get a burger well done (hate that!) which is an indicator of a frozen product. (The price point is cheap so not that bad.) Most of the menu was 86'd on an opening Sunday night football game featuring "Dem Boys". It was a crazy weekend of sports events in Austin so it was understandable. I'll be back to try the wings and dogs. The service was really good 👍 and the price point of the food will bring me back.
Toomey's is such a great place to go watch games. It is one of the only places in Austin with multiple tvs where we can watch a variety of games at the same time either inside or outside. The drinks are great and they are so affordable (under $10!) which is a rarity in Austin. The food is also really good for a Sports bar. Their cauliflower buffalo wings and their fries are amazing! It is so easy to go with a big group since everyone can order on different tabs through their phones. Would highly recommend!
Food is pretty good. Location is great. Servers aren’t very friendly or helpful but it’s nice to have the ability to order QR code from your table. Biggest complaint would be they market as a sports bar, but come here on a Sunday when the cowboys are playing and 1/2 TV’s are soccer and loud speaker is Soccer commentary. Asked them to change the game and that went nowhere. Maybe it’s just me, but Sundays are for AMERICAN football so play football if you’re a true sports bar.

Updated: Added 2 stars - to show some grace. Maybe it was just a bad night, or so slow and they could not justify being open. But reflecting back it was not a strong night of customer service. The bartender was either studying for a test or doing her homework as well. Never a good sign when the customer feels like an imposition and I was disappointed because I was feeling social and wanted to enjoy a few drinks out on a nice night. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Not sure if this normal. Hours on door say open to midnight. Hours on Their Google page say open to midnight. The manager working tonight wants to get home and says they close at 11pm. Would not have bothered coming if I knew.
Went here with my 87 year old grandmother for a good time, we got quite the opposite, waited 15 minutes at our table for service and eventually I went to the bar to ask. A very rude gentleman then came to our table and rudly told my grandmother to use a qr code to view the menu, after I had to order for her our food finally came. Cold as the rockies it was, neither of us had a bite. Eventually the server checked on us and, noticing neither of us had touched our food, proceeded to give us the bill and expected a tip. Needless to say he didn't get one
Showed up to Toomeys as a group of friends and I were gonna check it out for the first time as it looked pretty cool online and watch the UT basketball game. Sign outside said that they opened at 11am on Saturday but it looked like nobody was inside and the bar wasn’t even ready for service. After waiting 10 mins after the opening time, we left and went somewhere else. Not a very good first impression.
