I've been here twice so far to get a slice of pizza instead of a whole pie and both times I've been very satisfied with the quality. Service was kind and quick. I haven't tried the subs or anything else on the menu so all I can vouch for is the pizza. No other pizza shop in my experience has perfected a Brooklyn/NY style pie other than this place. The dough retains a great crunch even after being reheated. The buffalo chicken is a good balance of just enough spice and yummy flavor. The plain cheese also has a great taste, almost like a nostalgic cafeteria pizza but doesn't have a strange taste to it. Just had my first slices of pizza at Tonino’s… DELICIOUS! Some of the best Pizza in the greater Connecticut/Hamden area, and I have no doubt I’ll be back. The pizza is amazing here. I have lived in Hamden for a long time and my friend brought me here recently and I was blown away. I have been here at least 2x a week every week! The gentleman there during the day, not sure if he’s the owner, but his customer service is untouchable. I can’t stop raving about this place to everyone I know! Go in for a slice and I’m sure you will be back for the biggest pizza box they have!

Amazing pizza. I always think about picking up a pie but then I remember that they don’t have a 18 inch pie. The difference between a 16 vs 18 inch is equivalent to an 8 inch pizza extra so it’s a big deal breaker. An 18 inch is a real large size and I think they should offer it even if they label it as “extra large”. If they did this I’m sure more people including myself would order more. Their next size up is a party size which is way too big. For 2-3 people, a 16 is too small and it’s way too costly to order a 16 inch and a 10 inch. For the meantime, I will stick to their slices. My family and I visited Tonino's a few weeks ago right after our hike. Love places like this. Family owned business. The pizza was spectacular and flavorfull. Plus they were very friendly. How terrific, as we entered a customer recommended their pizza with "it's the best", so we had cheese slices while our ham and cheese sub was being prepared. The ingredients were so fresh and tasty. It's one of the best pizzeria places I've ever been to. Mostly takeout. Limited seating. But friendly service and delicious food. Right off the Canal bike path near Quinnipiac College. Great pizza, delicious homemade Italian bread, fantastic antipasto, and excellent customer service. Tonino's is our go to for Italian take out. On our e-bikes the wife and I stopped in for a little bite to eat. A slice and some fried mozzarella sticks then back on the ride great place nice guys and its right on the trail.
