Tilt proves the point that you don't need a lot of space to offer great service, food and drinks and a convivial atmosphere. Yes it is more of a pick up a coffee and maybe a pastry kind of place, but if you linger a little longer, the people watching experience is well worth it. There isn't much in the way of seating for big groups, but that's not a reason to not sit and enjoy your treats inside or outside. The cakes and pastries on offer are so yummy and the coffee is fantastic. Service Dine in Meal type Breakfast Price per person R 100–150 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Pecan Pie

As other reviewers have stated, more of a 'pick up & go' than a sit-down type of place, but there were one or two other dine-in patrons at the time I visited. A slightly stiff/weird atmosphere in the sit-down area, but the Bacon , Cheese & Egg sandwich was good and the coffees were solid :-D I didn't try any of the cakes, but the selection looked delicious! Always great to stop by for a coffee or bite where the beans are this good and the baristas so friendly and competent. Not a bad shot pulled nor milk not expertly foamed. Consistency like this over time is tough to pull off. Bravo to the owners and staff here. Service Dine in Meal type Breakfast Price per person R 50–100 Recommended dishes Cottado
Tilt Coffee ☕️ what a win! We visited this splendid Melville spot a few weeks ago after a Sunday run and can’t wait to go back! I can highly recommend the strawberry overnight oats and mocha (pictured), SO good!
Talk about attention to detail! Contemporary yet full of antiques. Beautiful, friendly and very welcoming. One of the best coffee shops in jhb definitely. Consistent in serving good coffee.

Amazing cappadocia and pecan pie after a guided tour of Melville Koppie Service Dine in Meal type Other Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
A small, intimate coffee shop in Melville - ideal for kicking back, relaxing and enjoying a cup of good quality coffee. The menu focuses on coffee for all tastes, with some snack-food, like muffins, on offer. It's a lovely place to visit and spend time at - whether you're on your own on with friends. The notice outside "coffee and friends make the perfect blend" sums up the whole experience at Tilt.
Leah the owner is the perfect hostess and very intuitive her customer's needs and her products. The coffee is some of the best I've had. Coffee and friends is Tilt's slogan and it's perfect for this destination cafe. Shakes are out of this world!! I had the most productive working day in a pretty aesthetically pleasing and humble environment. It's small space but is eadily oveelooked by the treatment and vibe. A must go for creatives and coffee connoisseurs.
