First coffee shop open in the morning. Went on Wednesday morning at 6am. There must have been 200 people outside. They looked like a running group. They were kicking out coffee to the runners. The line was seriously moving. However, if you are not part of the group make your way directly to the register and they will take care of you. This coffee spot was suggested to us by a friend, apparently 'the coffee is great!', he said! Well! we definitely were not disappointed. The coffee was great, the service was average but the person who I assume was an owner or manager, left a bitter taste in my mouth! It really put a damper on my first visit... maybe it was just me but knowing the Umhlanga vibe, it is still possible to be treated with racist contempt. I noticed this gentleman acknowledge the European clientele but did not even look up to greet us. It was definitely a let down! Shame, the staff tried apologizing for his bad behavior. To the owners I would like to say, well done on a beautiful establishment but that's not going to be enough, especially in our South African context! You have to do more than just serve coffee and make money!!! Because your coffee was good, I might just go back but it won't be in a hurry. There are so many more excellent coffee shops with great service. Take this one to heart!

Ah, what can I say about this awesome Coffee spot at the Village in Umhlanga! I love This place. The Coffee these guys produce is really great! I’ve never been disappointed. They also have a nice selection of eats, if your feeling a little on the hungry side, even if you’re a little in the hangry side, they know how to cheer you up. The vibe is great and they always play great music. All the guys and girls who work behind the machine are knowledgeable about coffee, and they know exactly how to make next level coffee. They also have WiFi that actually works and plug point for your electronic goods, which is always helpful if you’re a creative or needing to do on the go business. Tiki is always buzzing with people, great place to be. Massive thumbs up.
It's good coffee, I had an americano. It had great flavour and good body. Strong, yet easy drinking with low acidity, dark with plenty sugars coming through. Well roasted yet not burnt, with a hint of bitterness lurking in the background. Just how I like it. If your are getting a takeaway in Umhlanga, I'd recommend you try them. One of the best iced coffees that I have had in Durban in a long time. Good service. Location is well situated on Umhlanga village. Perfect for a coffee catch up with friends.
Slightly disappointed. Today is the second time I have had the Chai latte which tastes amazing, but once again the powder was not mixed properly so there is a lot of lumps of the powder in the drink :(

So good to see Sam again! What a welcome face and awesome barista. And then Ismael too! I guess that's to be expected when you're a regular at coffee shops ;) We had lovely cappucinnos and sat at the outside tables watching the world pass us by, while being tempted by the smell of freshly baked croissants. Lovely cakes, pain au chocolate and a lot of lovely looking eats on display. Friendly, relaxed, chilled vibe.
Wow this was my first time being here, after my weekly Saturday parkrun ritual. Place was abuzz with parkrunners, cyclists, families, mums and tots and friends doing life. Was a great morning experience even with people everywhere. The staff was on top of things, oh and coffee and home-made bran muffin also hit the spot. Will definitely visit again.... Oh and phone charging stations at your table is certainly a unique touch.
