I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Thunder Gun Steak, Rib, and Pub! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy atmosphere. The staff was attentive and friendly, making me feel right at home. Now, let's talk about the food. The ribs were cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, and the pub-style dishes were a delightful surprise. The menu offered a great variety, catering to all tastes. The ambiance was perfect for a casual dinner or a special occasion. It's a place where you can enjoy a great meal and relax with friends or family. I can't recommend Thunder Gun enough. One bite and you'll be transported to a carnivore's dreamland where the meat falls off the bone like it's been waiting its whole life to be eaten. A family steakhouse established in 1968, it exudes a charming setting of an old western saloons! Their sign outside claims the best ribs in the country, and being the sceptic, I had to challenge this claim... I went to this place because Tik tok was going crazy about it (apparently it had the best ribs in South Africa-I wanted to confirm for myself) I looked it up on Google. Now, at this point my expectations were so high. I ordered the 1kg ribs. Turns out they were ordinary tasting bland ribs and bit dry too. Not bad but nothing to talk about really. The veggies? Well...just your gogo's kind of veggies.Nothing special about it. Which was a bit disappointing. The service was great though.The staff is very friendly. The portion sizes are huge. Had a Sunday roast craving and Thunder Gun delivered! DELICIOUS 😋 Reminded me of old traditional carvery’s on holiday. So so good! Crispiest golden roasted potatoes, pork roast with crackling, lamb beef roast. Green beans, butternut, carrots, loads of gravy and the required condiments of apple, mint and horseradish on the side. R155 per person is such good value for money 💰 (Dine in only, no soggy bags.) Bookings only taken at midday and then it’s first come first serve for walk ins thereafter. The staff were legitimately the friendliest I've ever met!! Not only was the service outstanding, but the food was delicious. The rib portion sizes were on another level altogether!!! Also, I'm really happy about how amazing the milkshakes were. Great value for money, great food. Definitely recommend. Excellent food. Sunday carvery is best with really generous helpings. Nice bubbly vibe too. Not ideal for small children. Went back and enjoyed a very tasty rump with mash and mushroom sauce. So good! They have a Wednesday special - order a 200g steak and get an upgrade to a 300g free. The staff are really friendly and have great sense of humour.
