My date picked this place out. I was impressed when i saw the 4.4 Star review and said sure let's check it out. Nice place, we sat at the bar. I tried the Philly cheese steak sandwich. Best one I've bad so far. Great pepper flavor, everything. My date got the beef tips with the red wine reduced sauce. That was pretty good too. We were both impressed. We were already talking about what we would eat there if we went again. Most likely that if is gonna be a yes again. Waiter was nice and another guy stopped by and asked how things were. Great food, nice ambiance. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We went for lunch on a Saturday right when they opened. There were not a lot of people working when we got there. More came in around 11:30. The bartender was serving drinks and waiting tables. She did an amazing job for all the people. I had the ribs, chicken, and pulled pork as they offered this for a great price, and I wanted to try everything. I loved the ribs. They are a dry rub, but there are sauces on your table you can apply when you get them. Chicken was good, Pulled pork had amazing smoke flavor. My husband had the New York Strip sandwich. He loved it. It was so flavourful and tasty. He would definitely go back for that. I would recommend this place. We visited on a Friday evening. My husband had a hankering for fish fry, and I saw on the Smokin' Oak's Facebook page that they offered a deal on cod. We decided this was a good time to try out the restaurant. First of all, you enter to a glorious view and the fragrance of ribs in a massive rotisserie. It's quite an appealing start! We were seated right away. The dining room is fairly basic with many old photographs of the Red Wing area. It's a pleasant enough vibe. Service was good throughout our visit. They didn't have a printed drink menu, but the bar was quite close to us, so we both glanced there to check the taps; I also took a picture. My husband had a beer while I had a fantastic blueberry cider. My husband was starving, so we started off with two sides. The cheese curds were hot and tasty, but not squeaky. We also ordered the bull bites, which came with a horseradish dip and teriyaki sauce. The teriyaki, unfortunately, was incredibly watery, but what we could taste had a nice flavor. The horseradish dip was tasty and we found it actually went great with the cheese curds! Our entrees soon came out. My husband's fish fry came with fries as well as cups of slaw and beans. He is not a fan of slaw and beans, so he gave them to me to try. I had a small bit of both and I found them to be quite good. The beans were savory and thick, while the slaw had a good consistency--crunchy and not watery. He liked the fish and fries fine, but he didn't think they were the best ever. I ordered the salmon salad, which came out without dressing. I asked the delivery guy about that, and he brought the cup out in about 30 seconds. The vegetables were nice and fresh. The salmon piece wasn't huge and it was on the verge of being overdone, but it was still good. The dressing was great. As this was a date night, we had to get dessert. I was impressed when our server recited a diverse selection. I chose the caramel crunch cake. It turned out to be pretty good, dense with just the right amount of sweetness. We want to come here again and try more of the menu, especially the delicious-smelling BBQ. This place is always busy on the weekends. Hard to get in for dinner. So I went for lunch on an off day with my husband. Thankfully it wasn't busy at all when we ate an early lunch. The waiter was friendly and provided great service. We decided to eat a sample platter that allowed us to try the different meats. It was enough for 3. The food was flavorful and cooked just right. We enjoyed ourselves and plan on going again. There is also a full bar area that offers friendly service and booths..etc.. where you can eat or just drink. I recommend this place for lunch or dinner. But if you want to avoid the crowds... definitely try this place during the week. Oh my gosh, such amazing food. We preferred the meat sampler and the brisket is melt in your mouth delicious, the rotisserie chicken is so tasty and juicy, the baby backs are tender and flavorful, the steak bites and pulled pork so good. The home made slaw is yummy. The garlic bread is mild but delicious, I love love love. One of my favorite restaurants since moving across country to here. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I love that they knew what we ordered, no auctioning off food at the table. (I hate that!) Food came pretty fast at lunch in a large group. I think everyone enjoyed their meal for the most part. I was disappointed in the fries, all too soft. The Reuben I expected to have that nice crunch, but it was not grilled that way. The brisket was tender and moist, and had good flavor. It's fun to walk in to see the chicken on the spit. Bottom line, I would go back and try something else. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

I found this gem 3-4 years ago while driving through Redwing, enjoying fall colors along the river. My whole family had a great experience. We got to meet the owner, and even the head chef came out to our table. Now we make it a point to go back every year and enjoy their food and refer any and all of our friends when I hear they'll be around Redwing. After eating here last weekend, I realized I hadn't created a review yet. So here's my 5- star approval! We'll see you again next year! Excellent rotisserie chicken and mashed potatoes! Service was great, nice that the owners come up and say hi and are working the food window when you walk in. Great prices, large portions and my sister loved the open face brisket sandwich- really good brown gravy! Will be back next time in Red Wing!! The salmon with lemon dill sauce was also really delicious and moist!
