Such a delightful stop for lunch on the way to Atlantic City. The menu was varied with many tasty items to choose from. My favorite was the crab cake. The mahi tacos were on the dry side but tasty flavors. I hope to return at dinner for the famous pot pie. A walk around the shopping community was a huge plus afterwards. Definitely worth a visit. Historic Smithville Inn has been a mainstay restaurant for friends & family since the 1960's. We've enjoyed many memorable occasions there from 1st date, engagement to wedding, special birthday milestones, office Holiday parties and more. The ambiance of Smithville Inn is wonderful for events in one's life. The service is always grand, from the bartender to the servers; many have been there for years. This says a lot about Smithville itself. The most recent visit with friends for lunch proved that you can not taste atmosphere. Ordered dishes: Lamb Shank; tender and well seasoned; Classic Chicken Pot Pie, not much filling-lacked chicken & veggies. Salad was crisp but sparse on the plate. This seems to have been the average kitchen output since November, even for dinner. Having brought friends throughout the holiday season, no one was impressed but we always return because Smithville Inn for locals in like a relative you can't say no to as they're so likable. Everything about our party was too notch.... everyone had a great time. No one had to oversee the party ... they had everything perfect. Food food and more food came out .... cocktails were perfect and they provided a large clean space for our party. Bathrooms were spotless. Update: Just went back this evening excellent as always. There was a little mishap with some peppers in a sauce and my sister cannot eat peppers they switched it out very quickly and took care of it. Everyone goes here for the pot pie and it definitely did not disappoint. The portion was large everything was well done and tasted awesome. Mike was our server and he was exceptional. The music was a little loud, but beautiful place. The main food was awesome however the crackers and bread probably could use a little bit of an upgrade, I know they could do better.
