I have followed chef Richard for several years now and his culinary journey. He takes a lot of pride in complex flavor combinations that creates an amazing flavor journey. We came in and asked for "A flavor experience from the chef" we wanted several options and get a feel the Stag in Nampa. I want to give Jonah a mention because we were sitting at the bar for a few hours in conversation. He takes a lot of pride in mixing drinks and had amazing flow that seriously resembled art. In the peek of the dinner rush on a Friday it was great to see the flow of the staff. Our favorite drink of the night: -Rummy in my tummy- THIS WAS OUR FAVORITE! -Mother's Milk Our favorite food items: -Marinated Artichokes - ANYTHING with the truffle Aioli is to die for! -Chicken Sandwich- The chicken with truffle aioli and mushrooms really just made a delicious combination. -Brandy Mushrooms- looking for a small dish to pair with a few drinks? I really enjoyed the flavor and sauce with each bite. I can't wait to see the staff and menu expand in amazing unique ways. I believe this unique speakeasy gem is a great place for dates, girlfriends catching up or group gatherings. Group gatherings I would call a head of time. IMPORTANT SUGGESTION- We went during the Friday after valentines day during dinner rush. They did reach capacity and during their peek had a few sets of couples waiting to be seated. There is not a real waiting area once you go down the stairs. I believe the staff was attentive to those people waiting. If you are coming to check out this new HOT spot in Nampa I would suggest coming not during peek times. Personally I enjoy sitting and conversating with whoever I am with and not feeling pressured to leave. I believe this was one of their best nights since they had opened being valentines weekend so this might not be a normal dinner rush. I would make a suggestion to owners if this keeps happening take out the decorations at the bottom of the stairs or arrange on shelves on the wall instead. Put a standing only table along that wall or a tall circle table so people waiting can lean/stand around it and can place drink orders before being seated. This table can be moved around to be out of the way during slow times but during busy dinner rushes on Fridays and Saturdays can be out. I think you could have 2 or 3 groups of 2 people stand/share the table with drinks and conversate with each other before being seated. I personally think this personal touch of "open bar tab" waiting for a table is attentive to those waiting and would increase sales during peek times. Thank you Sick Stag and chef Richard for a lovely time. We will be back to visit soon! Price per person $50–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
The food options are limited and the portions are small. If you are looking for a quick cocktail it’s okay . The seating is limited and the atmosphere is cold. I definitely wouldn’t take a date here. The website does mention the portion size and food options are meant to be small so it’s not like they are misrepresenting the snack size or options. I have been there twice and don’t feel the need to go back. It’s mid. Price per person $20–30
Overpriced! The drinks are good but with the giant ice cube you get a 4th the drink and on top of that they charged me for a tip I never write down, service is fast but I didn’t appreciate them charging my card for money that i never put on the receipt scammy if you ask me aside from the way to high of prices and charging me for something I never agreed to it was good and fast

Cool place. Door is located inconspicuously between two other business. You walk down stairs to find a dimmed bar with several seats and several nooks and cranny's to hang out. It is well decorated. Two bartenders making drinks so a little slow if busy but worth the wait. Nice menu of drinks with good range of classic and sweet cocktails. They play groovy music and the. The vibe is casual and comfortable. They have a small food menu that looks interesting and will definitely try next time. Service was prompt and very good. I would definitely recommend this new place to anyone that wants a smaller vibey place with good drinks and service. Price per person $10–20 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
The first thought that comes to mind… WOW. Just wow. Not only is this an exceptional establishment by any standard, it’s even more astonishing that this moody, trendy speakeasy resides in downtown Nampa. The drinks are exceptional, and I’ve tried them all, and their food is served in perfect portions that blend tasty and exciting into one bite. I highly recommend The Sick Stag, one of Nampa and the Treasure Valleys newest hotspot destinations! Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Super disappointed in our experience at the Sick Stag. We came super excited to try out their cocktails. It was a full house, but we were approached fairly quickly. The waiter gave us menus and water while we stood, and told us a table was just checking out and we would be seated as soon as they left. 10-15 minutes later we see that group leave. We walk over to the booth, assuming we would be sat there, like our waiter had told us we would be. An older waiter quickly walked up to ours as he was cleaning it and told him “I already promised this table to someone else”. He had promised it to a group who arrived much later than us. That group was sat, and still we waited….I inquired of the waiter if they take reservations, thinking maybe these people had called ahead. He told me no, they do not take reservations. Another 10+ minutes go by and we still were waiting… We quickly finished our drinks and asked for our check and left. We were so excited to try this place, as it was a member of our party’s birthday, and we were ready to celebrate with a few cocktails. We left with such a bad taste in our mouth of this establishment and extremely let down. Do better, Sick Stag. Service: 1
I feel soo excited that we get to have this space in Nampa! Upon descending the stairs it’s all just spectacular. Everything in the Sick Stag is intentional and you can tell the owners put a lot of thought into it. The drinks are definitely specialty, the bartenders friendly, knowledgeable & I loved learning the science behind some of the drinks. Atmosphere top notch & their BITES…. WOW! What a delight for your tastebuds. We will definitely spend more time here and bring ALL visiting friends & family!! Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
The Sick Stag is a great addition to the Downtown Nampa community. A great and inviting atmosphere that has excellent drinks & small food plates with unpretentious and top notch service. It's stop that should be visited frequently. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
