I had drinks and two appetizers, jalapeno poppers and cheese curds. I thought both were good. They both came with ranch dressing. The margaritas are also always good. A big draw for me is the location on the Rock River. I really enjoy having a few drinks at the bar with a view of the water, the boats, and the people when the weather is nice. I can't think of another place in Beloit that offers this same kind of atmosphere. The Rock is definitely unique in this regard. In terms of what needs to be improved, the only thing I can think of is it would be nice to have a special Happy Hour menu that lists the actual prices of the appetizers during Happy Hour. It would just be a lot more convenient for everyone, customers and employees alike. Buffalo Wild Wings does this, and I think it helps a lot. The server Jenn was extremely helpful and understanding when we received the Cajun Shrimp Alfredo, upon realizing it contained mushrooms, while my fiancé is extremely allergic to them. The plate was taken back to the kitchen and a fresh plate containing no mushrooms was swiftly brought out. The staff is so friendly and inviting. The food was excellent, particularly the meatloaf and the jambalaya. Meatloaf was outstanding. Flavorful, not greasy, not gamey, seared perfectly on each side. Just perfect. I wish I had even better words to describe. The jambalaya had the perfect amount of spice. Great way to start the meal. Service was great as staff was very attentive. Will definitely come back!
