The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere was wonderful. However - I had a gift certificate from the Wisconsin Restaurant Assoc that I wanted to use. I called the Wis Restaurant Assoc this morning - today - and they verified that Ready Set was a member and I could use my certificate. Imagine my surprise, when at the restaurant they said they weren't a member and I couldn't use the gift certificate. So somewhere there is a communication breakdown. Who is at fault? Hmmmm something to be fixed. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

I came for a birthday dinner, second time in here. Our server was wonderful, very sweet and helpful woman. Always had water/drinks and constantly asked how we were all doing. My issue is with price to food value. Ordered the sirloin (priced at $30) with two sides. Sirloin was completely pink and yet somehow completely rubbery and chewy. The fries were great, as was the ready set sauce (tastes like mayo and ketchup mixed). Another issue I had was with the broccolini I was served- completely crunchy as if only cooked for a couple of seconds and it was cool to the touch. One final issue I had was the flaky salt being extremely large- a strange complaint I know, but I ended up getting a piece the size of my fingernail and it cut into the roof of my mouth. All in all, price was terrible for the quality and care of the food served, but the atmosphere and service was wonderful. The prime medallion and meatball sandwich were delicious. I found the calamari to be over battered. I can't recommend the squash side. It tasted like it had been grilled in old grease. Over all good food and great service. I'd go back. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Met 2 friends here this evening and it was wonderful! Such a welcoming place to walk into. Our server was amazing and the food was fantastic. One had pizza (gluten free), one had pasta and I had the wedge salad and the mushroom risotto. Portions were generous and the prices were so reasonable! I don’t live close by but my friend who does says she can’t wait to return. And just one more shout out to our server- she rocked. We had our rehearsal dinner here and we had just the best experience with the staff, but especially with Nate. We had 2 waitresses working with the group and they nailed it. There were a lot of us, but they served everyone quickly and accurately. They were very kind the whole time and took care of little things that I asked for very promptly. I worked with Nate to set it up, and he was always willing to answer my questions. It was a very easy process. On top of that, the food was great. I had several people in the group comment to me that they really liked what they ordered. All around great experience, I will absolutely be back. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

My husband made reservations for Valentine's Day. Our first time going to this restaurant. We really liked the look of it. Very hip mid century vibe. The bar area was lovely from what I could see. We were both surprised when they took us to the basement (Or letdown). I didn't realize they had a basement for seating. It felt like it was for the overflow. It was colder then the upstairs I put my coat back on while eating. There was no music at first, the waitress said she was trying to get it going. With her having to go up/down the stairs I felt like it was a lot for her. I would have waited for a table upstairs but we didn't know. When we left the upstairs... there was open tables on both sides... I'm assuming the bar side and the restaurant side. I ordered the fettucine and hubs the rigatoni. He really liked his. I'm sure my review will improve the next time we go as as I would not sit in that basement again. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50

Tina started with the Ready Set Go cocktail, was really good, a bit on the sweet side. Randy enjoyed a Moon Man on tap. After all the rave reviews of the cheese curds, of course we ordered those. Loved the light batter, but they lacked rich flavor and wouldn't rate them as favorites. The soup of the day was a mushroom soup, light cream, chunks of mushrooms abound, very delicious. Then we ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and the meatballs (on the appetizer menu) as our entrees. Meatballs were decent. The sandwich was spot on though. They did a great job with the interior, ambience. Great date night place in Oregon as we don't have many options. Oh, props to our server, Mackenzie. She was so awesome, even though she was running half the tables on a busy evening. She brought everything out quick, from drinks, to requested things like mayo for Randy's fries, ha. She rocked it! Super happy to have RS in Oregon as we desperately needed a date night restaurant in town. Will be back soon to try out more tasty cocktails and menu items!
A supper club for the 21st century, the Ready Set is a chic bistro in the historic downtown part of Oregon. The tempting starters include an olive platter that was more than enough for two to share. Pastas and pizza are highlights, the clearly homemade pasta and crispy Neapolitan crust on the pizza were quite impressive. Desserts are not to be missed, we shared the Red Velvet Cake and Pear Custard Tart, both were superior versions of these classics. A well crafted wine list offers excellent choices to complement the menu. One note: global supply chain issues have an enormous impact on small restaurants like this. Certain items may be out of stock at the time of your visit.
Delicious food! Definitely one of the best restaurants in Oregon by far! I’ve been there twice in the past month and each time the food is just as good! The staff is very friendly and the place is very cute! Drinks are good too (especially the Bloody Mary)! Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20

Called ahead and booked a reservation for the lower level. Once we arrived to the restaurant we were told the group in the lower level was staying longer than anticipated. My party waited around 10-15 minutes and were seated near the entrance. The Ready Set features a nice clean esthetic and the service is fantastic. I found the food somewhat lacking in the quality/value department. The Ready Set Burger was decent, along with the Pappardelle. Ready...Set...Go to this restaurant? Maybe. 3.0 (5.0)
