I recently moved to Shelton, Ct from Westchester, NY. A few of my neighbors in the building I live in (The Birmingham) and my wife recently have been frequenting The Pub on Howe. I would like to comment about the restaurant by saying: a) The owner, bartenders, and staff are down to earth, very polite, and extremely friendly. b) The food and drinks are not only delicious but also affordable! c) The back room/pool area is so much fun to spend a few hours chatting with the local patrons at the restaurant or spending quality time with friends/family! Staff was very rude. Waitress took away my drink when I went to the bathroom and never asked if I wanted another. We asked if they were serving food/apps and the waitress just handed us the menu and didn’t say a word. We Got charged for things we didn’t even order. She Got everyone’s tabs messed up. Another staff member came around asking us not to vape inside when no one in our party was vaping. Waitress handed back my card to close my tab in the middle of a sports game as if she was cutting me off after only ordering two drinks and a couple apps. Great pub, open super late. They have a lot of games for patrons, including pool and Jenga. Weekends are super busy even after 11 PM but servers are always attentive. Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Great little pub with decent food and drinks and a fun atmosphere. I am updating this because people have called this place rough and edgy lol. I grew up in rough and edgy with actual dangerous people around. There is nothing dangerous about this place at all. It is a nice clean downtown Irish pub that many locals and out of towners like. The crowd is usually a mix of blue and white collar (which I am) workers and I have never even heard an argument above people telling each other their favorite teams suck. The people saying this place is rough in reviews have to be the most posh, soft people in existence just ingore them.

Nice place in downtown Shelton where the locals hang out. Good,old-fashioned bar as you walk in. Greeted by the bartender. The other side is the sports/game room. Several screens for football Sunday! Good pub style menu with sandwiches, nachos. Outdoor seating for warmer weather. Check it out. Good place. Overall: do yourself a favor, steer clear. More detail: Rough, edgy, local scene. If you like playing the game of pool ultra-competitively, & you stick with a cocktail that's no more than 2 ingredients, & you're feeling frisky or perhaps fancy a confrontation, you found yourself your spot.
