Outstanding meal, loved the halibut, scallops, and mussels. Beautiful location Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
Best place to eat in Southport hands down. Always get the lobster roll and a cup of clam chowder. It is the best lobster roll in Maine! The views are incredible and always talk a walk down by the water. Always a must when in town. Never has been overly crowded so service is always fast when we go in. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We went over by boat for lunch. Newagen Harbor is a bit tricky to navigate, but we had the dock to ourselves. Lunch was great. Service was great too. Dog friendly on the outside deck where we ate. A great afternoon outing at a beautiful spot.
Our home away from home in Maine!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

My husband and I ate at the Newagen Inn last Thursday night and we were underwhelmed with the overall experience. This pub is located inside a hotel that is on the water in Southport, and it has beautiful views of the surrounding area. We had made a reservation ahead of time, and when we arrived were given a seat right next to the service station/bar. We asked if it would be possible to move to another location (there were several other open tables) but we were told they were all taken. (Note: most of these tables did not become occupied during our visit). Like many restaurants we visited during our vacation in Maine, it seemed the pub was short staffed, but our biggest concern was really the lack of warmth or attentiveness of the staff. The staff took our orders, delivered the food but there was no personality at all! We would have received the same level of service if we ordered from a kiosk. Once a course was delivered to our table, the serve never asked how it was, or checked in to see if anything else was needed. When the next course arrived, not all of the dishes were cleared off the table from the previous course. My husband had the shrimp cacio e pepe dish, which was delicious. I ordered the hot lobster roll with butter, and was sort of underwhelmed. It was not a huge portion of lobster, and the homemade potato chips were overcooked and hard. For dessert we ordered the sticky toffee pudding and initially the wrong dessert was delivered. Eventually we got the right dessert but it barely resembled other sticky toffee puddings I've had, and it was wayyyyy too sweet and we couldn't finish it. While we were there a woman set up to play the guitar and sing in the lounge area. She had a nice voice, but the whole time she was playing she was looking at her iPad screen, and never once acknowledged the people in the restaurant or tried to "connect", and it was a bit too loud to be able to have conversation while she played. I really wanted to love this restaurant but in the end was disappointed. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100
The Newagen Seaside Inn and pub are charming with lovely ocean views. A talented musician played which added to the ambiance. We were a party of 5 and ordered drinks, appetizers/salad and entrees. The salads were basic - the eggplant rollatini and mussels were very good. Before we were finished 1st course, entrees were served- a bit clunky and not very orchestrated service (I accepted it as the beginning of season and new servers). My scallop entree did not arrive and no one visited the table for 20 minutes. I finally got the attend of our server who was at another table and informed him I hadn’t receive my meal and since everyone else was finishing up, I was fine, but to please deduct from bill. He responded he’d look into it and went away. 5 - 10 minutes later Tiffany, whoI assumed was a manager apologized and offered to get me something from kitchen. I told her I was fine.. She asked if I wanted a drink and I stated no thank you. She then asked about dessert - I checked with the table and no one wanted anything. I thanked her for the visit and asked for the check. Tiffany can back later with the check - reached over my back and handed the bill to my father in law even though my husband and I asked for it. She smiled and said I didn’t know (she did know and she knew I wasn’t happy with the situation). So what should have been a enjoyable night out with our parents for Father’s day, which my father in law paid. We waited another 15 minutes for the original server to pick up the check. No apology- no thank you! A very disappointing experience. we had another reservation later in the week which I cancelled - I was inquiring into staying at the Inn in the future - but I know there are many other properties can deliver better service and actually want us there. atmosphere positive, food ok, service below par.

This is one of my favorite Maine restaurants :) Absolutely gorgeous views from the deck or window tables. We had excellent service, cocktails and the Steak Au Poivre was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!

I ordered the ravioli with asparagus. It only came with a few ravioli bearing filled inside. 4 little hard end stocks of asparagus. Bearly enough to feed a mouse. Paid $18 almost everything else over $20
Great atmosphere. The bread was excellent, as was the halibut. Burgers are OK. I recommend the cheesecake over the blueberry pie. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30
