The Oasis is a bit of a diamond in the rough. Yes, the location is in the middle of nowhere. Yes, the building is run down. Yes, there’s deferred maintenance, no AC, low ceilings, questionable air quality, yada yada.
But we’re here for volleyball! And the volleyball is great. There’s leagues pretty much every day of the week, as well as court rentals and drop-in. Their website is pretty outdated but give the facility a call or join the Facebook group and that should help you get situated.
Oasis offers the following leagues: women’s and men’s doubles, coed 2’s and 4’s. There’s four divisions: D1, D2, D3, D4 (most competitive to least competitive). Thursday nights are the most competitive while Friday nights are the least competitive.
The bar is great. Affordable food and drinks for all. I’ve never ordered something off their food menu that I didn’t like. Friendly bar tenders and overall great vibes. The people are friendly, welcoming, and diverse.
There’s 7 indoor courts and 3 outdoor courts. There is a foot wash station and showers in the bathrooms. A big parking lot which can fill up on busy nights and get icy during the winter, be careful walking to and from your car.
My favorite spot for volleyball leagues. The bartenders - Steve, Shambo, and Brianna, are all kings and queens. The courts are great. The lighting can induce a little trance / Vegas effect where you don't realize its been 5 hours and 5 drinks later. Worth it every time though
Amazing facility (for an old warehouse) run by super nice people! There are three minor issues: Drainage - the sand gets compacted leading to bruises and scrapes. Lighting - sometimes makes the ball difficult to see (no worse than outdoors). Low ceiling - can be a problem if you're accustomed to playing outdoors. I've not seen hard evidence of it, but there's also a moldy smell/feeling. If these are a problem for you, play at its sister facility: The Island. I live much closer to Oasis, and the fun vibe keeps me playing here.
This is a great place to play sand volleyball. Everyone is friendly and tries to help each other out. There's a variety of players from noobs to seasoned veterans. They have a bar, fountain drinks, and food. Others raved about their nachos and I've ordered them twice so far (once a few months ago, and most recently a few weeks ago)... they were amazing the first time! Second time around they were different, and not in a good way. They're still yummy, but nowhere near as delicious.
The only downside to me is the amount of drinking that goes on here. This is a personal thing because I don't drink and don't enjoy being in that type of environment. I enjoy playing volleyball with everyone enough to stay for that, but not much else.
There are many indoor sand volleyball leagues that play every day of the week at various levels. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun. The nets are higher than our team is used to, but I think The Oasis uses standard heights.
They also offer a full bar and fried food. The prices are cheap. The service is great from the experience I had.
Such a great place to have a get together! We rented out the space for a banquet for our football team and it was a perfect location with food, beverages, and a place for te kids to run around. The staff is so accommodating and friendly. The price is reasonable and the amount of time you get for the rental is probably the best I've seen. Will definitely utilize their facility again.
