We visited The Mother India last month and we were pleasantly surprised!! We are the typical brits looking for that curry with a kick and we got it! My dad had the vindaloo and I had the madras and both were delicious in flavour.. (Much like you would get in a good UK Indian restaurant) I gave 5 stars because I feel it’s a rare find in Portugal, the staff were very friendly and I highly recommend this to any curry lovers that visit Fig da foz 😃 Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person €15–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Very Unpleasant and worst experience, rated 1 star due to inability to assign a negative rating. The owner displayed extreme arrogance and negligence. During our visit with four friends – three non-vegetarians and one vegetarian by religion – we specifically ordered Paneer Chilli with gravy for our vegetarian friend. However, the restaurant served Chilli Chicken instead. Despite this blunder, the owner asked sorry with smiling face and acted as if it's a small mistake, showing no remorse for the mistake. Her repeated statement, "I'm saying sorry, we can't do anything other than this," was delivered with utmost arrogance, leaving us frustrated. The owner being a vegetarian(as told by her), her actions or words was never in way that she really felt sorry. For her it's just a small mistake and due to her rude attitude clearly shows - she is not even feeling sorry. To add insult to injury, the initial bill reflected the higher price of the chicken dish, only corrected after we pointed out the error. Attached are photos of both the bills. One good behaviour was giving the fresh garlic Naan to replace the Naan used in chicken curry given in place of Panner chilli. An honest assessment of the food: - The so-called chicken biryani lacked authenticity and tasted like pickle rice ( not to forget - the hefty price is only for biryani doesn't comes with raitha or salad) - The Naan and Paneer Chilli did not match Indian taste expectations. - The customer service was marked by arrogance, disregarding customers' food preferences and not respecting religious beliefs. The food was delicious and quite authentic in terms of spiciness and the flavours. They have many choices as well. I find it's expensive for the portion, although I understand it's kind of exotic food here in Portugal/ FDF. Plus, if you want to sit outside, the setting is not good. Highly recommended for people who like Indian food, want to have a change, or would like to taste Indian cuisine. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person €20–25 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
We visited the restaurant today as we were missing Indian Food. We ordered Chilli Paneer but we received Chicken Chilli. It was certainly not a pleaeant experience as one or my friends was Pure Vegetarian. We informed the staff but they were arrogant. Even though we received replacement dish the staff was arrogant to accept her mistake. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person €15–20 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Had a wonderful lunch at this restaurant. The food was amazing! Fair portions, good variety of chutney/sauces, very tasty and authentic. Been very lucky to find real Indian restaurant in Portugal. Staff was friendly and welcoming. If we’re in Figueira da Foz again, would definitely visit.

Uma experiência muito agradável, voltarei com família ou amigos. A very good experience with indian food, i recommend it, will return with friends and family.
Used to be a decent place but the quality has noticeably been dropping. They brought us an already open bottle of wine which is a huge obvious red flag, the food wasn't that great or that much, and the price has gotten super expensive. I know the pandemic kinda made it tougher for everyone but this isn't how you get your clients to come back. I don't recommend this place. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person €20–25 Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
I will always come back to this place to try the different flavours of authentic Indian food, the friendly owners and the good moments I had there. I tried more than 30 different options over the last 3 years and was never disappointed. Menue is separated into sweet / normal and spicy and the different types of meat/veggies and I would really recommend trusting the owners on their recommendations for what goes with what.Try the imported Indian beer for a nice smooth drink to all the spicy, savoury food. Also a big vegan part on the menue which is very rare in Figueira 💚 You can sit outside with a nice sunset view or inside the cozy restaurant with a lot of traditional paintings. Take your time there and enjoy the flavours of indian soul food. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person €15–20
Delicious Indian Food a stone's throw from the beach! While looking for a place to have lunch in Figueira da Foz, we stepped into this Indian restaurant. We heard that they only moved to this location a month ago. The couple who runs this place is very friendly, enthusiastic and attentive. The food was delicious (I can recommend the chicken saag - my husband clearly loved it too because he ate half my portion as well haha). There is indoor and (half) outdoor seating, just a few steps from the beach. We will definitely come back here to try the other delicious items on the menu. Lots to choose from! Vegetarian too!
