Update and still loving this place!!! They recently hosted an adorable date night Valentine Special ❤️❤️Cute bar in downtown Joplin. A fun date night spot!
Awesome place. As a Gen Xer it reminds me of cozy feeling my grandma's house had. Great drinks, friendly staff. Lots of 70s kitschy stuff that brought back a lot of great memories.

This is a wonderfully chill space. You feel right at home, like at a 70's home party. If they are having bingo night absolutely go! Great drinks and great prices.

My new favorite place in town. Besides the great drinks and attentive and kind bartenders/owners, the music and atmosphere was spectacular. Even as a younger person, I know the 60's and 70's had the best style so it's really easy to "feel" cool here, ha. The crowd seemed fun, too!

Went in on a sunday evening with my girlfriend and was greeted by a very confrontational bartender. Older gentleman who didn’t greet us or acknowledge our presence as he was talking to a woman who was the only person in bar at the time. She could’ve possibly been a co-worker. It was two hours to close and immediately felt like we annoyed this man by walking in. As soon as a drink request was given the bartender demanded an ID and that’s fine. I have a Kansas license with an outdated address on it. He asked for my address and I missed one number but read out everything else to the zip code. I hadn’t lived there in over 5 years. I understand the precautions but the situation became increasing hostile after that. Not sure if he was having a bad day or have something else going on in his life but the whole experience was ruined from the beginning. He even followed us out of the establishment as he tried to get the last word as we told him to have a good day. My girlfriend was a local and had talked the place up so I was very much looking forward to it. Although It was rather unfortunate and I understand the precautions taken, at least get a license scanner if you want to be 100% sure. God bless this man and the establishment. 0/5

Best place to hangout in Joplin. The Living Room has a very chill, welcoming atmosphere that encourages you to socialize and recall a great time for pop culture and design, not just drink until you're too bleary-eyed to admire all the '60s furniture and maximalist '70s décor.
The owners are wonderful people and Jay slings the best Bloody Mary in town. Bring your own brunch on Sundays. Don't miss it.
No food is served, but the service was great and loved the1970's atmosphere and music. Drinks were great!
