Waking up on a cold December morning in Kuwait. Lying in bed, you are struck with short-lived panic that you have to get ready for school before realizing its Friday. With that comfort in mind, you decide to snuggle in and lay in bed for a few more minutes, cherishing the empty day ahead. Debating how long you want to stay, you are hit with the fresh smell of Chapati and Dahl. "There's Chapati!", your mom exclaims. On any other day, an early morning shouting would cause annoyance but her combination of words were the key to unlocking yourself from the comfort of your bed. Eyes barely opened, you stumble your way to your bedroom door, opening it to the hot fresh smell of freshly fried chapati.
The everlasting smell of a childhood I miss dearly.
