Enjoyed my visit here. Food never disappoints. The portobello fries are fantastic. Nice selection of beer on tap. Must try the old fashioned which was carefully crafted by our bartender. It's more of a quiet and elevated scene vs the surrounding bars.

The Hive is an absolutely wonderful place to wine and dine. The servers and bartenders are amazing, the owners incredible and it will give you just a little taste of that old Saint Charles. Went to the Drag Brunch at this location and had the best time anyone could ever hope for. Will be coming back again and again and again

Have been here a couple times and the food has been phenomenal, service has been good to excellent. It is basically a sports bar, and we don't drink or watch sports, so that aspect is meaningless to us. Lots of people there who are clearly regular patrons and know each other. Accept that it will be loud.
We eat keto / low carb and found some delicious options:
* bacon wrapped shrimp skewers appie (avoid the honey-based dipping sauces, but you could probably ask for pesto or mayo- still great on its own, and the moderately spicy slaw is delish)
* steak sandwich, no bun- upcharge for the avocado salad is totally worth it. The brie, tomato, onion, pesto flavors on this were outstanding.
* steak with creamy garlic shrimp was perfectly cooked and so tasty. Would love to have them offer green beans or roasted brussels to go with, but the avocado salad was still wonderful.
* lettuce wrap tacos were good but other options were better
Wish they had real fresh brewed iced tea instead of fountain, but it's a bar so I get it.
Definitely looking forward to going back for a third time to try some chicken options.

Great little spot in downtown St Charles. Very friendly staff, and drinks. Food is decent at times others good. Always enjoy my time here, and love the drag brunch shows.

I have quite literally never had worse service than what I received at this place by their bartender. Spent more time talking and flirting with men at the end of the bar to care about her other customers. Waited more than 20 minutes for our food, had to flag her down from refills and the food was actually so bad I only ate my sweet potato fries. An absolute waste of money

Was in Illinois for a conferance and just happend to chose the Hive by chance. Its a humble Tavern, and a laid back atmosphere, which I appreciate. Hands down literally the best Ruben sandwich I have ever had!!! Service was great, friendly and prompt. If I could give 10 stars 🌟 I would!!!

Chicken Sandwich
Tried this restaurant for the first time and it was delicious! We got the Cajun pasta with shrimp, crispy chicken sandwich, and cheese curds (not pictured.) Everything was delicious and we will definitely be going back!
Tonight was my first time dining in St. Charles. I will certainly be back just to go back to The Hive again! The owner, Nina, is truly the sweetest and our server, Phil, was the bees knees!
Amazing service paired with the Hive steak sandwich and a cold beer made for a stellar dinner! It was the best steak sandwich I've ever had and the environment is on its own spectrum ! I loved it and can't wait to get the hook up on my next experience at The Hive!
