Amazing little restaurant bar! Food came pretty quick and hands down one of the best poutines I’ve had, which is surprising given that it’s Nicaragua. Great service and atmosphere. Really good prices too. If you like hockey and good food you’ll love this place.

I had the hip breakfast bowl and it was delicious. Fresh ingredients and very flavorful. Also you should definitely add bacon. It's American style bacon and they cook it perfectly.
Note: if you use your credit card they're going to charge you a 5 - 6% CC surcharge.
The poutine here hits the spot! Read "poutine $6" on their menu board and thought SAY LESS. Burgers are delicious too. The sliders are a large portion for one person, but are an awesome dish to share. Servers are extremely friendly. There's free wifi and usually hockey playing on the screen. Super Canadian themed (but apparently the current owner is American).

I love everything about this place. The food is Amazing and very affordable. The owner and other staff are so friendly. The owner Michael was very helpful getting to know San juan del sur. His English is really good so it helps if you don't know much Spanish

We went here several times during our stay. The staff is great and the food is good. It is expensive and they add a percentage for a tip but I recommend.

Lovely place. The poutine was so tasty perfect for a hangover, not bad price for the food as it’s not local cuisine. Happy hour is good and the evenings are busy in there, with a happy fun atmosphere. Staff are lovely and we wished we could have eaten there again in our time in San Juan
We went in with the primary purpose of watching a hockey game. They had $1 drinks which were great. We ordered fried pickles and tostones con queso - also great! Manny was awesome and super attentive. He also helped find the game.
Then live music started playing and while the guy had a good voice it was way too loud! We left after the 3rd or 4th song because it was just too loud. The Hip is very much a tourist type bar so while its a nice bar and we're tourists we'd rather see our money go directly to Nicos and their locally owned businesses.
Some of the best food I've had in all of Nicaragua.
The bacon sliders were out of this world! And I tried a Canadian Caesar for the first time. If you like a Bloody Mary, you will love a Canadian Caesar. For us estadounidenses, it's not a salad but an amazing twist on a vodka and tomato juice with clamato, Montreal spice, horseradish, a nice wad of bacon, pickes and green beans.
Canadian owner is very welcoming, there was live music, friendly vibe, very reasonable prices, great service, and fantastic food and drinks.
Can't wait to come back and try some of their awesome looking salads. The portions are generous -- and you know this is the type of place that washes their greens.
Highly recommended.
Fantastic, new owners Jen and Adam, are wonderful. The staff, Michael, Julio, Jose ika are beyond great. The food is always superb. A home away from home
