I loved the chicken & beef platter. The meat had the perfect texture and flavor. That’s def a 5 because a lot of places make meat that tastes fast food fake. However, taking off a star because I didn’t enjoy the falafels as much. I think maybe they were overly fried, the outside crust was quite hard. I don’t know how this place is 4+ stars. You can get better halal at a random street cart than this place. Your food is not made to order. The chicken is dry from being left out on the flat top. The beef was dry and looked old. The rice was hard with no chew. Small portions and overpriced. My platter came out to $18. Service Take out Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
This halal guys is ok in terms of the platters and not too much of a waiting time. chicken seems boiled and not much of flavor - its just the white sauce which is their secret recipe. This location has been great as well next to CVS. It's conveniently located and easy to get in and out. The staff have always been helpful, polite, friendly, and quick. Service Take out Meal type Other Price per person $1–10
Edit: They reached out to me below but have not replied to my email. Maybe a way to try and save some face, but I'm editing this review to reflect my stance that they don't care and have not responded beyond what's written below. I've been here multiple times, and food's been fine. Today my mixed platter beef was nothing shy of beef jerky texture. How long has it been sitting on the grill for? This is a 5pm meal on a Friday, can't a customer have some fresh food? Service Take out Meal type Dinner Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

As an NYC commuter, I had few opportunities to try Halal guys from their original mid town street cart. Was happy to see them opening a store in Fort Lee. We decided to stop by during off peak hours, 4pm on Saturday. When we arrived we saw the giant grand opening sign in front of the store. Inside, luckily on 4/5 people were in front of us, but the restaurant was packed. The kitchen was really crowded, everyone seemed working intensely at their task. I ordered the combo platter. I wasn’t really excited with the plain lettuce and other side options. Even when I previously tried halal guys, I didn’t like how they cook the meats without much flavor. Especially the chicken is totally blend. The white sauce is the saving grace that makes the meal somewhat flavorful. The service was pretty good. Our meal was ready within couple of minutes. At the register, I mentioned Yelp event, and the lady wrote down my name. Overall it was smooth decent experience, except the food that I have had better similar platters in other places.
Use to go to their cart in NYC as a youngster so I’m glad to see them expanding everywhere. It’s not as good as I remembered it to be though. The beef and chicken was very dry and the portions are on the smaller side. I asked for my humus with olive oil and paprika but they gave me a plain one. Will try their other locations next time to compare. Service Take out Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30
