The food was great. Our server was pretty good but seemed preoccupied. We had the cheese sticks, soft pretzel, chips and dip, and the hummus. All were delightful. The fish and chips are definitely something to write home about. Corn beef and cabbage were cooked perfectly. The flat iron steak and vegetables were cooked correctly and nicely seasoned. We sat outside with a nice view of the waterway and some apartments, lol. Inside had a cool pub feel, but the patronage wasn't necessarily our vibe. A little uppity so it wasn't as comfortable. Redoing my review after 7 years. To say that the place is still just as great. From the greeters to the servers and even the manager checking every table. Definitely will always keep coming back here. Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
We came in for an early dinner on a Saturday evening and were greeted by the hostesses. One was very kind, but hard to hear. The other walked us, very slowly, to our table, and even though she'd spent several minutes getting the menus together at the front door, she'd brought one dinner menu and one brunch menu. When she returned with the correct menus 5 minutes late and we asked if we could move over one table for a more private spot with a better view, she didn't answer, but muttered to herself while setting up the table. It was a strange interaction, but the new table was worth it: we watched as the sun set and the lights came on on the Waterway. Our server was a delight, though and paced her visits to our table nicely. We started with the buffalo cauliflower wings: cornmeal battered and very tasty. I ordered the Goose's Acre Signature Salad. All of the ingredients were fresh and delicious and paired perfectly. My husband ordered the Fish and Chips: perfectly cooked fish with a light crispy tempura batter. The coleslaw looked weird and was mid, as was the brussel sprout side. The Pellegrino came in a bottle and was so refreshing and bubbly. Price per person $30–50 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Excellent Irish Pub on The Woodlands Waterway. The Irish empanadas were yummy and the Whiskey-Soaked Braised Short Rib was superb. 👌🏼 Price per person $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Irish Empanadas
The staff was amazing! Our waiter would check on us often to see when we were ready and if we needed anything. The lighting and atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The food was absolutely to die for. Especially their mazarella sticks. It's very much worth the prices. Their cheeseburger pizza was also delicious. The drink had a slice of lemon and it was the freshest lemon I had ever had. I 100% recommend this place. There was also something like karaoke downstairs and it was fun to listen to. Lunch: We had extremely high hopes for this pub. The atmosphere was fantastic. The server, Meagan, was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without hovering, which we greatly appreciated. The Jumbo Soft Pretzel was perfectly named, tasted good with a great mouth feel. My husband advised that his Original Burger was above average. My Shepherd's Pie was lackluster. While the flavor and texture of the sirloin, veg, and gravy was satisfying, the mash was subpar being runny and without texture. Thirty seconds under a salamander or a Brule torch would have upgraded the entire dish. Dessert: After our show, we returned for dessert. They weren't really busy but our waiter, Reginald, seemed quite overwhelmed. He actually dropped my husband's dessert onto the table where it splashed off the plate, he then had to wait a full 10 minutes for a replacement. The Brownie Sunday my husband ordered claimed to be served with Guinness ice cream and while it looked a bit tan he thought it just tasted like vanilla bean ice cream. They didn't offer a dessert that intrigued me so I opted for the charcuterie board. It was extremely disappointing especially at the price point. While we will probably return in the future because it is a short walk along the Waterway from the Marriott where we stay when we attend shows at the Pavilion, it will probably be for a pretzel and a drink afterwards. I also want to mention that they have an elevator but it didn't seem to be a wheelchair friendly establishment. We did not go upstairs, maybe it is more accommodating. We haven’t been to Goose’s Acre in about 10 years no reason other than we just haven’t been back but what I can say is we will definitely be back very soon! My husband got the fish and chips with apple coleslaw and it’s was so good! I’m not a fan of coleslaw but the apple coleslaw was surprisingly good. I had the Jameson French toast and it was delicious! They have a great brunch menu with $5 mimosas and 1 free kids meal with a purchase of an adult meal. Which was a pleasant surprise. Great service, I didn’t catch the waitress name but she was very friendly and attentive. After we finished eating and had paid out check we stayed at the table talking and visiting with family for about 30 minutes or so and it was nice to not be rushed out. Would definitely recommend.
