I was lucky enough to get the last table for the Rebirth Brass Band (New Orleans)! What a magical musical experience. Please excuse my lapse of memory (I can’t for the life of me remember our waiters name). I’ll tell you he took his time explaining everything we had questions about and was very attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the scrimp & grits, smoked wings (appetizer), my partner had the romaine Caesar salad with rice and spiced pecans on the side, we both had some quality lattes as well. This venue is classy, not too big and not too small. There’s two levels and you can see the stage from almost every table in the building. There’s coat racks conveniently place throughout the two levels, and it’s fully staffed so you’re constantly being serviced if needed. They have a nice system that allows you to not be disturbed if you just want to give your undivided attention to the live show. Valet is available and it’s conveniently located near lots of public transportation (train and bus)! If you want to have an upscale night on Nicolette Mall, this is a perfect place! I really enjoyed the energy, ambiance, and Rebirth Brass band did a phenomenal performance! This Jazz bar and restaurant will not disappoint!

The Dakota's magic lies in its intimate setting. The multi-level design creates a cozy atmosphere. The ambiance envelops you, making you feel like you're part of the music. The Dakota's menu is as much a star as the musicians who grace its stage. The executive Chef has crafted a delectable selection that caters to all palates. For those seeking comfort, there's the classic Dakota Burger, a juicy masterpiece served with crispy fries. But for those who want to indulge in a touch of decadence, the menu offers a plethora of tempting options. The Dakota's bar boasts an impressive wine list and a cocktail menu that's as creative as it is delicious. Whether you're a wine connoisseur or a cocktail enthusiast, you're sure to find something to tantalize your taste buds. I would recommend trying the Trout and Parsnip: a pan-seared trout perched atop of pureed parsnips and topped with a brown butter caper sauce. The trout is cooked to perfection, its delicate flesh flaking under the slightest touch, while the parsnips add a touch of sweetness that is beautifully balanced by the tangy caper sauce.

A+++ ! My wife and I saw Shaun Johnson who put on a fantastic show. This was our first time here and it's a great venue, intimate and it feels like you're right up on stage. The biggest surprise was the food! This was some of the best food I've had downtown without paying $$$ prices. I had the ravioli which was to die for. The cheddar biscuits were out of this world. What a great night, we will be back!
The music is always top notch. They have an excellently curated scheduled and do great work for the twin cities music scene. Come for the show! Don’t come for any other reason. The food is okay. The entree list is fairly weak, but the starters and smaller plates are interesting and delicious. The service is…tough. The tables are crammed together, so the next table over is practically in your lap, and the serving staff is spread too thin between these crammed in tables. We didn’t see our guy nearly as much as we should have, and things were slow, especially given that they were putting a lot of pressure on us to leave to turn the room over. We had a lovely evening, but it was an expensive night out for passable food and mediocre service.

I feel like I have been to this location in the past but felt completely different. Setup for a multi concert show for the amazing MUSIQ Soulchild. Wonderful atmosphere, great drinks and although there were a few hiccups with the sound system, we were so glad we did not let the downpour storm stop us. Our thanks to the incredibly hard working valets!!!!!
This venue is fantastic. Great acoustics, fantastic service! When you reserve a table...you're snug up next to other tables...it is not very private and you can't really speak to the person you're with. Overall it was a great experience and am anticipating another visit!

Fantastic venue to watch a show. Gracious servers. Food is pricey. Ordered 3 small plates for the table and they were all far too salty (and this is from someone who loves salt!). Personally, I’ll eat elsewhere and just do their cocktails which were decent.
Excellent entertainment! Great atmosphere! Great sound! Food is superb. I had the shrimp and grits. The wait staff was superb!
Great venue, friendly service and good food. If have given 5 stars if you would provided cocktail napkins with subsequent beverages. After my second drink was sloshed on the table and I asked for a napkin she came back with a dinner napkin?

I took wifey here for our anniversary. We had a great time. The food was great, the drinks we well tailored, and the music was perfect for us. I didn't plan on having grits when we jumped in the car and made the trek, but I ended up loving them! We truly enjoyed the entire evening. AND, we drove 4 hours one way just to do it. We'll do it again.
