It is a nice place to gather with friends, the food is special and delicious, but the portion is too small for me.
I ordered “Loin” and a pesto pasta. I really recommended “Loin”.The side garlic and pickle are so good!! Besides, it was impressive that the waiter served us extremely politely.

Went on weekday, clearly it was just very few tables were occupied. Dining in the same row as the open kitchen area will obviously leave your whole body full of smoke smell. Politely asked if is it possible to be seated in the next row of dining area, but was declined with the excuse of that area is for more than 2 pax.
Food is exceptionally good. Liked the whiskey pork ribs. Dessert is also good.
However, the service was definitely not on par with the dining restaurant that they are portraying.

Noticed this low key unassuming restaurant across our hotel. Decided to have supper there on a wet Tuesday night. Pleasantly surprised with its menu and quality. Great place to bring your date for its food, ambience and music~

The price of the food was expensive and the portions were very small. The scallop dish was a scam and disappointing if you were craving for a fulfilling scallop experience. One small piece of scallop was cut into 3 small chunks and was covered majority with potato and cheese.
For desert we ordered a pistachio cheese cake but we got a frozen cake with frozen dews still present at the edges of the cake even after serving it. On top of that, I ordered a passion fruit cocktail that was rm 29.90 but I could not get any taste of alcohol in it. Overall, this cafe is overrated.

The Curly Tail Melaka
4pm+, walked out from Liu Men Hotel to go Jonker Walk to walk walk.
Crossed over to the opposite side, attracted by the front decor with plants. Walked in to see look.
Hmm, the restaurant looks atas. There’s no customer in it, only the staffs.
Hmm, one of the staff approached us. I asked if we need to make reservation for dinner at 7.30pm. He said we have to as it might get packed in the evening.
Told him I’ll consider. Walked out of the restaurant, made a quick search.
Wow, reviews r all highly positive.
So I turned back in to confirm.
Our plan was to go Kota Laksamana area to have western food for hubs’s one day belated Bdsy celebration.
Well, a blessing in disguise. No need to drive a 10mins’ distance to a western food restaurant we nvr try bf. No need to get stuck in the traffic.
Meat platter for 2 - It’s really good.
Fan, (top)nicely seared.
Fowl, (left) not seasoned but tasted not dry.
Collar, the best taste with the right marination.
The side Garlic is so good, didn’t have the green garlic taste. At first I thot it was some kind of pork fats, so tender so sweet!
Mashed Potato so tastefully creamy.
Portobello Mushroom Soup- I like it much!
Pistachio Cheesecake - Hubs doesn’t like cheese but he loves this cheesecake!
If I rate this place a 10, no one should fault me for it. Having come back to Malacca after almost 10 years absence; the place has changed dramatically. I’m seeing bistro, cafes, pubs and bars amongst the traditional bread and butter restaurants and eateries.
I came by The Curly Tail day one of my trip and was turned away because I did not make a reservation. It shattered my confidence totally because I was sure it wouldn’t be full. I ended up having to make one for the next day and I’m so glad I did.
The menu wasn’t complicated but it damn sure wasn’t suited for a vegan. Any meat you named it, they have it. Wagyu, lamb, iberico pork cuts, seafood, chicken galore.
Day 1 of my trip told me not to trust any popular or crowded eating place anymore but TGT proved me wrong.
Wagyu A5 - RM$360
10/10
Iberico Sharing Platter for 4 - RM$168
9/10
Scallop on potato gratin - RM$16.80
9/10
Nuts salad - can’t remember the cost but definitely another 9/10
Service isn’t the best but can’t fault them for it.
Overall, this is a place you have to visit.

Very nice fine dining environment, cozy atmosphere, good and fresh food served, friendly staffs, finding for parking can be challenging especially on weekends and pH,
This is one of my best meals in Malacca. This is a gem restaurant hidden in jonker street. The pasta look and taste like fresh handmade pasta, chewy and springy unlike others that I have eaten before. I wonder what is the brand of pasta they are using? Service staff can be more smiley.... 😆
