We made an impromptu decision to visit The Cork and Cleaver for brunch after the Montgomery Half Marathon/5K. Despite our large party of 12 and the last-minute reservation, the staff at The Cork and Cleaver were incredibly accommodating, ensuring our experience started on a positive note. From the moment we laid eyes on our plates, we knew we were in for a treat. The presentation was impeccable, showcasing the chef's attention to detail and culinary artistry. The flavors did not disappoint either. The western omelet paired with gouda-seasoned ground grits was a standout, bursting with savory goodness. The french toast melted in my wife's mouth, and the smoked salmon tray was beautiful. Despite minor inconveniences such as having to search for the restaurant due to unclear directions and the state of the restroom facilities, our overall experience was overwhelmingly positive. It's worth noting that these issues did not detract from the exceptional quality of the food and the warm hospitality extended by the staff. In summary, The Cork and Cleaver exceeded our expectations with its delectable brunch offerings, impeccable plating, and accommodating service. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for a memorable dining experience, The Cork and Cleaver comes highly recommended. We left feeling satisfied and eager to return for another culinary adventure. Price per person $20–30 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Steak and Eggs

Update: Just came here today with my wife for happy hour and sat at the bar. Nice friendly staff, and a superb bartender who was a very knowledgeable mixologist. He made an outstanding Negroni and old fashioned. Additionally we had the tuna nachos and they were superb as well. We will come more often! Let's dive into my experience at Cork & Cleaver in Montgomery. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was welcoming, and the service was top-notch, making us feel special. We kicked off with Armadillo Eggs and Fried Green Tomatoes as appetizers. Both were a delicious start, setting a high bar for the meal. For my entree, I chose the Lunch Portion Lobster and Shrimp Pasta. The dish was a delightful surprise, slightly sweet but packed with flavor, and they were generous with the lobster – a real treat. My boyfriend opted for the Pork Cheek Tacos with fries. Each taco was a blend of rich, savory flavors, a testament to their culinary craft. And you know what really sealed the deal for me? They serve Pepsi, my absolute favorite. It's like they knew exactly what I wanted. In summary, Cork & Cleaver isn't just about good food; it's an experience that makes you feel right at home. If you find yourself in Montgomery, make sure to give it a try. It's a place where every dish is thoughtfully prepared and served with a smile. We had been traveling all day to get to Maxwell AFB and just need a quick meal. I really went not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised...my wife had soup (which was awesome) and I had a bacon burger (also great). The wait for the food was a bit long but was ok..Clean restrooms, nice staff kind of a tiny restaurant but definitely worth going to check out . My wife wanted a shrimp salad but they said that it was on a separate meal (?) I didn't understand so she just got a cup of soup. About the only thing that was not great would probably have to be the fries ...paid 7 bucks for a stack of soggy 1 to 2 inch brown starch sticks they called fries. If you go, skip the fries , they are not worth it. Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3 Recommended dishes Burger
By far my most dissatisfied experience!! Upon getting our drinks we were told we would have to switch servers bc someone went out of turn. Our new server was TRASH. He had come and taken our orders. Fine. As we’re waiting we notice our waiter goes outside. Now our food is up and we can see it’s ready so we’re looking around. NO SERVER. So of course our food goes to another table. Someelse came to else what we already knew which was our food went to another table…and said that we would get the food shortly. I declined having the meal any more because that’s how upset I was. THE MANAGER ON DUTY did not assess the situation or show any type of leadership. All this because of a POOR SERVER. Service: 1
