I’ve been to the restaurant which is charming and delightful and I’ve used them to cater at work. The service is outstanding in both situations and the food is incredible. We had a superb vegetarian option for a department retreat and the dish was empty! One of the top on my favorite list. Service Delivery Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This is one of Peoria's hidden gems that shouldn't be hidden. Their salads & sandwiches are fabulous. When my friend asked if they could make her a pulled pork sandwich, even though it wasn't on the menu for that day, they told her no problem! The only regret I have is the knowledge that my grandma Maxine did not get the opportunity to try their peach cupcakes with marscapone frosting! They are, hands down, the best peach cupcake I have ever devoured. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
I just got an order for pickup so cannot fully judge the service experience or atmosphere, but this place has the most delicious ginger Thai wrap with saffron aioli and their cupcakes are sooo well made with quality ingredients. Will definitely be back! Service Take out Meal type Lunch Price per person $1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

What a hidden gem in Peoria of all places. The atmosphere is very trendy with the beautiful mural on the wall of the family/owners. The flavors of the gourmet panini sandwiches are fantastic. The bread is soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside, the meats and sauces are great. Not usually a fan of tomato soup, but our family was fighting for the soup. But even more amazing are the gourmet cupcakes! They are moist and full of flavor, and the flavor combinations are so well balanced. We've tried cupcakes from some of the most famous places around Chicago and the East Coast, and Karen's cupcakes are hands down our family's favorite. We discovered this gem when visiting the business across the street. They definitely lived up to their name. Upon entering, the glass case revealed a great variety of cupcakes. We tried 4 flavors and all were delicious. For lunch, we had a turkey sandwich and lasagna. Our friend commented it was the best lasagna he ever had. Please note that the business has daily specials and lasagna is not served every day. The turkey sandwich was also fantastic. We'll be back!
Had an amazing breakfast today with three insane kids. The bagel sandwich and gravy biscuit were the winners for me. Kids loved the fruit and French toast. Eat here. You won’t be disappointed. Hope to stop in for bread to have at the house next time.

It’d been a while since I’ve been here since moving out of town. Their peach cobbler cupcake is still a win for me. I tried the cherries and berry and the havana for lunch with homeade potato chips and tomato basil soup. All were solidly good and the soup was my favorite! Service was great as always. Always great to see the owners who are just plain awesome!
The Chef and The Baker is a great restaurant, a little gem that I am very happy to have found. Their daily menu is always a great grab for lunch. And finishing off with a cupcake is a great to end a meal. We even used them to cater our wedding reception, they were timely, well priced and each and every item was delicious. They took into account our tastes and my dietary needs and made a menu that was amazing. I can't recommend them enough. My favorite is the Seared Tuna Salad.
