Our server was not sober, he dropped an entire bottle of wine and it shattered at our table after almost spilling the previous glass of wine he delivered. He forgot our salad and desert. We waited forever and there was no one there. The manager did nothing to be supportive. I’ve spent over 2k here since they opened last year and have never had an all encompassing positive experience. It’s always something. The red wine is kept on the bar and served hot. The iPad wine list is gross. I’ve called ahead and reserved for a birthday and it wasn’t acknowledged. This location is always a miss with service and is not worth the prices. I like CG, I live near the downtown location and used to frequent the one in DC but they need to up their caliber of service staff or lower the prices. This was such a bad experience, I never like leaving a bad review but our service here has been consistently poor. We only sit in the bar maybe the dining room is better.

I have been to many capital grilles before. This one was really disappointing for the food. Steak (Fillet) was ordered medium, but was very small and very over cooked. My wife's fish was not fresh and did not taste well. The calamari is usually my favorite but was soggy and greasy. I spent $300 on 2 people for a special night and was very disappointed. Friday night with the restaurant half empty. However, the service and the drinks are very good. We go out all the time for date nights. We will not go again here except for a drink.
