We ended up here in our attempt to escape the crowd downtown after the Thanksgiving/Christmas lighting parade. What a great place! Jordan was our waiter and his recommendations were all winners. My cocktail may have been one of the best Old Fashioned drinks I’ve had. Seriously. It was so good. (From the menu: Dry Fly Earl Grey Old Fashioned, orange simple syrup and garnished with Brûlée orange and Maraschino Cherry.) For our appetizer we went with Jordan’s favorite, the roasted cauliflower and it was drizzled with scrumptiousnees. You need to try it to taste what I’m talking about! For our entree, we shared the “surf & turf“ special. The Rib Eye steak with Sundried Tomatoes was cooked exactly to our liking and the seasoned butter for the crab legs was also super flavorful. For dessert, another recommendation from Jordan, the bread pudding! Oh my goodness! I never even liked bread pudding and would never have ordered this but it was extremely delicious. This is definitely a new favorite place to dine and/or have drinks. I’ll add that they have a wonderful wine selection too! 5 stars all the way around so go see for yourself! We ate here on a Friday night of valentines week. It was super busy so we sat at the bar. As busy as they were, they still made us feel like we were the most important people in the restaurant. The oysters, Brussels, salmon and duck were all so delicious and prepared perfectly. The bartender Jordan took the best care of us and a few members of the kitchen crew came out just to make sure everything was to our liking. Super cute little spot in downtown CDA. Fried chicken was phenomenal, and I loved the pickles!! Incredibly reasonable prices and the atmosphere was really lovely. Staff was also wonderful and very personable. Lots of gluten-free and dairy-free options, too! This is one of my favorite restaurants! My husband and I go there every year for our wedding anniversary and we never get disappointed. The service is always great and food is really good, too. Great environment. Loved the food. Very tasty and well done. It was of great quality, flavor and very filling. The atmosphere is relaxing and the staff were helpful and amazing. We were well taken care of. Arrived at 4 pm on a Wednesday for an early dinner. Perfect as the place filled up quickly. It was full when we left 2 hours later. This place is just up the road from Lake Coeur d'Alene which makes it a convenient restaurant for those looking for a quiet spot away from the lake front. Parking in the area is convenient as all parking lots on the street and in certain businesses parking lots are free. Decent list of local beers as well as local wines (I didn't try the wine). The menu was quite simple and straightforward. I ordered the charred octopus and duck. The charred octopus was amazing, not too chewy, but also not too soft. The combination of the octopus, arugula, and balsamic dressing created an amazing trinity of flavors. The duck breast was well cooked, albeit a bit under-seasoned. The lentils were similarly well cooked, but under-seasoned. This doesn't mean that I didn't enjoy the meal, the lack of seasoning meant that the quality of meat and lentils was not overpowered by seasoning. The pumpkin donuts were alright, I'd probably get something else next time. This was an amazing restaurant that required very little preparation on my part. As a single diner it was easy for me to walk in and sit at the bar, however if you plan on coming with a group I would recommend a reservation beforehand as the small venue can get full fairly quick. Came into the bluebird the other night ordered the duck and a beer it was very good and our server was on top of everything I believe her name was Hopper. She was very courteous and friendly had a great personality. The other gal behind the bar was nice but a little bossy and grumpy. I felt sorry for the other waitress seemed like she was bossing her all over the place but she did an excellent job for our table.
