The Blue Duck has to be the coolest place I’ve visited in New London so far! It has trendy vibes with unique foods on the menu. I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about peanut butter and jelly wings, but I ended up really enjoying them! The lobster Mac was definitely a highlight too. They have a nice patio area that I definitely have to come back in the summer for. I’ve been telling everyone who asks me for recommendations in the New London area that the Blue Duck should be at the top of their list! 10/10 experience! Our server was so sweet! Nice atmosphere & decor. I ordered the burger and fries 11/10! My friend also ordered the mac & cheese that uses Tony D’s pasta and that was also 11/10! I’ll be back again soon! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Visited back in June and had an amazing experience, the patio setting is great giving waterfront views and views of the NEC below as well. Order the fish and chips and they were amazing and couldn't finish it all, my mom got the grilled chicken sandwich it was equally as good. The prices were also extremely good and fair for a restaurant my soda was only 2$ and fish and chips where only 16$. If your visiting New London this is a must visit restaurant. I loved this place they had live RNB music playing with a guy doing awesome acoustic covers of classics. The vibe was great for drinking and the happy hour menu was perfect for nibbles and getting a taste of the food. Five bucks for five wings is a great deal especially right on the waterfront. The only reason I’m giving this four stores is because the food while good value, was served a little cold and the wings were not very crispy. The flavor was ok but without the texture being there of crispy crunchy etc I left feeling a little unsatisfied. I feel the regular food is probably better than the bar snacks from what I saw others eating. But either way the vibes were impeccable.

On Sunday’s we will head to New London and eat a sandwich or salad on the outdoor patio overlooking the Ferry Terminal at “Muddy Waters Cafe” on Bank Street. But it was closed due to a fire in basement Thursday morning. We went next door to The Blue Duck Bar and Kitchen. It was quite busy and they have a DJ spinning music. The hostess was lovely and we got a table in the side room. The kitchen was backed up but when we got our food it was quite delicious. I had eggs Benedict and it was cooked perfectly with a delicious hollandaise sauce. Lars had a special burger with Avocado, bacon fried egg and hollandaise sauce. It was cooked perfectly as requested medium rare. A bit messy but delicious. The potatoes with both were a bit blah, no seasoning and could have a bit crispier. But overall a good brunch despite a long wait. Understaffed and busier than usual. The staff was wonderful. They have a nice outdoor patio too. Weekend Brunch vibes on the back patio are fun. There’s a DJ and the menu is trendy. I wish they had iced coffee. Also, I came wanting one of their lunch salads, but they only serve food on the brunch menu during weekend brunch. I wish they had a salad or something light and fresh on their brunch menu. I ended up choosing the parfait, which surprisingly had a lot of berries (usually places are stingy when it comes to fruit), but they only had sweetened yogurt. It would be nice if they gave you the option of plain or vanilla. Service Dine in Meal type Brunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
The Blue duck is a destination location in New London... This place offers amazing drink specials, a great menu of food, and a breathtaking view of the Thames River. This place hose DJ's on the weekend and is a hotspot for locals and people that live in the tristate area. If you are in New London and want to party this is a great place. Be respectful. expect to have a great time 🎉🎉🎉 Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Cuban Sandwich
I walked in here looking for shelter from the harsh cold, only to find a whole lot more! The vibe here is relaxing and warm. Perfect for anything from a casual get-together to a first date. Very close to the train station if you are waiting for your next ride and need something good to eat 😋 (Definitely will be back for Karaoke Tuesday 🎤) Shoutout to Anita for being so attentive and kind! You'll be lucky to meet her when you go! Had me sat down within 30 seconds of walking in and really made my day with her kindness. This has become one of our favorite go to places in New London. The food is simply amazing. Whether you want birrias tacos, fabulous mac and cheese, tasty wings, or just a phenomenal burger, they have it. They have a pretty wide variety of drink options if you are looking for that and the service is the best around. We enjoyed the deck in the summer and plenty of seating inside as well. My partner and I had a good first experience at The Blue Duck. We got The Garbage Fries and although a little soggy, they were delicious. The Birria Tacos were what we were really looking forward too and they were lackluster. The meat was dry and the taco itself could have used some sort of cream sauce to freshen it up. However, my lack of stars is mostly for the poor treatment of customers by management. My best friend recently visited The Blue Duck and was unable to have her meal in the restaurant because there was only 1 high chair available and the manager told her “it’s a bar, sorry”. They couldn’t have been less helpful, so please be sure to note this is NOT a family friendly establishment in New London.
