First timer. Dinner for twelve. Long wait times? Yes, but that was expected and considered normal as they make everything fresh and to order. Small place but clean and with a friendly staff. Everyone I was with gave the place a solid five stars. I gave it a four due to the meal I ate. The veal parm had a texture I wasn't expecting and the flavor was off. Not sure if it was because I've never had "fresh" veal parm? My wife claimed the fried calamari was the BEST she'd ever had. Fresh baked bread was good if a bit 'yeasty' and the oranges plate was a surprise hit with all. Kids had pasta with butter but they weren't into the homemade pasta. I tired the fettuccine alfredo and that is what I should have gotten. That was a five star plate. Next time then. The desert was also a hit at the table. Give this place a try if you like Italian food. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We've been coming to Appin Way for more than 40 years. 4 generations. Dont let the outside fool you. This is another one of schenectadys Gems! This is the most satisifying traditional resturant to eat at. Everything is hand made. With a little twist on the traditional service some times. lf your old world ltalian, this is your place. lf you love delicious food, this is your place. expect to spend 2 -3 hours here. I went there for the first time. It was amazing. Don't have a single bad thing to say about it. But, the next day, I discovered the hard way that I ate too much and spent at least an hour on the toilet and threw up. We had a delicious dinner here and were well attended by our server. Everything was delicious and timely. Freshly baked bread and butter were waiting for us for our reservation time, apps came out promptly and entrees came with a family style salad. We were so busy enjoying we didn’t take any photos! Plan to spend a few hours here. Everything is made in house (even the olive oil used in the restaurant is from their family's olive grove in Italy. The three ladies who run the place fly to Italy every year to help with the harvest and refill their supply). Because of this level of quality, you will wait for your fantastic food. Order an appetizer, enjoy the wood burning fireplace and the house wine while you wait.

Cozy, quiet, and authentic. Appian Way is the closest thing to sitting in your grandmothers house while she cooks dinner for you.
