I know others that recommend this place. I had the Pad Thai and have definitely had better. Maybe this was just a different interpretation, but if that is the dish I wanted, I would not return. Service was very friendly, atmosphere and decoration were very clean and intriguing. Food was tasty and fresh.. The khi mao was sweeter than in accustomed to but it had great flavor and was cooked very well. I asked for Thai hot and got a good level of spice but it wasn't as spicy as I'd preferred but the food was prepared well and had great flavor. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

First time we came here, we ended up leaving because we waited 20+ minutes to be waited on. Second time we had to ask to order 2 times and had to wait 20-25 mins for someone to come. Waiting another 40 minutes for food. Really unfortunate. Service: 2

Thai Spice is one, if not the best place to eat in Iowa City. Some friends took us there more than a year ago and we wouldn’t mind going every week. Their Tom Yom soup is amazing. My partner and I love this restaurant every time we go. Today the pad Thai was a little off, but the curry was amazing. Service was slow but at no fault of the single server working.
