I live in Atlanta and have been on the hunt for the best birria tacos. I get them every time I see them on a menu and am usually disappointed.. Crazy enough, the Tequila’s in Baxley, GA are the BEST I’ve ever had! And it wasn’t a fluke, I’ve had them twice now. They’re worth the drive!! The atmosphere is great and upbeat. The service is good. Good came out pretty quick. The food was hot and steamy. The Fajitas for two are good and enough for 3 if you don't eat a lot. The street tacos are very good. I will be coming back as this is a great restaurant. I eat at a TON of Mexican restaurants (I'm married to a basic white girl, so it tracks.) And this was literally the best I've had all over the united States. The portions are huge but the more impressive thing is the quality of the food. The meats I had (chicken and steak) were juicy and tender and flavorful. Most places give you fatty tough steak but this was obviously a better grade. Definitely gonna be a regular place I eat while I'm in town. Family of 5. Got asked if we wanted a booth or table, (there’s 4 girls up at the host area), said it would be awhile for a booth after we said it didn’t matter. When we said we’ll take a table, they jumped right on it to seat us. Julio took our drink order. And when we were ready to order less than 10 minutes later. He had just started taking drink orders for a 12 top right behind us. So why, 4 girls at the host stand, multiple servers, etc was this guy given a 12 top so close to giving him a 5 top? We flagged down a female server. She was awesome, took our order. Order comes out and my son’s burger and fries were missing so he had to sit there and wait. While the rest of us about wrapped up eating is when he got his food. Lack of proper training and manager oversight is huge here apparently.

Waitress was friendly but was pressured to order food before we received our cocktails to relax and enjoy before ordering food. The cocktails were very weak on alcohol. Food was cold and lacked flavor. The manager admitted that the food warmer wasn't working. We were disappointed, especially since several local people that lived n Baxley we asked about the best Mexican restaurant and they said Tequilas. Attentive service and reasonable prices. Lots to choose from on the menu. They give you drips and salsa and we ordered guacamole. I ate lunch there and hubby got a beef burrito and I got steak fajitas. Everything was very fresh. Would definitely recommend this restaurant! This is our Saturday night, date night, place. The staff is so nice and the environment is (usually) great. If you don't like watching the ball games or cheering fans, you should probably pick a time and day when no games are playing. We love football so it's not an issue for us. My fiance usually gets the same thing every time we go, however I like playing menu roulette. I have tried so many items on the menu and I have never been disappointed with anything. From the fajitas to the rice bowls, the chicken plate with pineapple, the one with veggies, too many to name, it has all been great. Tequila's has become our favorite in the area for Mexican. Great value, we get the Fajitas for ONE and usually leave with a doggie bag and both of us FULL! Popular place we sat at the bar. It filled up Friday by 6:30pm with a line. Service was good. Had a variety of beers on tap, we had the homemade guacamole which was tasty. DW had the Fajita chicken taco salad and I had the carnitas dinner. Both came prompt and were quite good. Would come again Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30
