Highly underrated! My favorite Nepalese/Indian restaurant in Berkeley. The food is consistently delicious, not too oily or salty and full of flavor. The naan is also some of the best I've had anywhere. Would recommend the chili momos, chicken tikka masala, and saag paneer, but it's hard to go wrong. Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Momos

Small portions, high prices! I've revised this review to be specific about the dish I ordered, which is definitely on the menu. My feelings about my order: Basically, it is unreasonable to charge $18 for a tiny bowl of pumpkin curry. I went here with my son for his birthday for a nice meal. We spent $80 between us, which made no sense. Curries are made with simple ingredients, like legumes, veggies and chicken. They're not expensive to make and should not cost a fortune, especially in such limited portions. I don't eat much but I would have liked a meal sized bowl of curry. Another issue, they use strongly scented hand sanitizer, near the entry. The harsh chemical scent fills the air and interferes with the experience of the food. The waitress kindly sat us by an open window but perfume and food just don't mix. It would be so easy to use unscented hand sanitizer. I just did not have a good experience and felt super disappointed. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100 Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

Taste of the Himalayas serves a great range of Nepalese and Northern Indian dishes including momos, tarkari curries, lamb dishes as well as your usual favorites, both veg and nonveg. The staff is wonderfully polite and the ambience is enhanced with soft Indian music and beautiful murals on every wall. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
