if youre hungry, want to feel like family, and get great service, come here. my girls and i stopped here after a day at the springs and it was an hour before closing(sundays they close at 6 so try to get there earlier as the menu gets slimmer as the day goes on and the food is sold out. but that was ok bc i ended up with the most fire fried chicken i think i have ever had. and it came with two big sides, and a drink for $11. i ordered two extra sides bc they were only like 1.50 and they looked so good. an they were. I had the cabbage, green beans, mac and cheese, and white northern beans. everything was delicious and the staff was prompt, super courteous, and checked on us to make sure everything was satisfactory. i wish i wouldve gotten her name bc she had a one year old at home as well so she got us everything we needed . To the staff - Thanks for an amazing meal and keep up the good work To whoevers reading this - Dont give corporations your money for garbage “food” when you could be spending less and eating way better at places like this locally owned small business. Very good Soul food restaurant. Try the Fried or Smothered Pork Chops. Fried Shrimp and Chicken are both very good. All the sides and desserts are great as well. The woman that took our order was not welcoming and looked as if we were bothering her to order. The menu doesn't have descriptions of some items (Shrimp boil) and everything in it. Shrimp boil is made without seasoning and then topped with old bay before serving. The dish is flavorless because of this, and the seasoning isn't cooked out, so it is pointless. Positives: Cornbread, Mac & cheese, dark meat fried chicken, size of shrimp. Negatives: Shrimp boil, fried fish, green beans, overcooked potatoes in boil, vague menu items. Very personable, great place to sit and eat. Atmosphere is great! Food is a 10!! We drive from Palm coast and we are NYers, this good is amazing!!! Definitely worth the ride.
