Amazing!
This is one of the best kept secrets in McHenry county. We love Tapas, and the variety here is outstanding. The freshest ingredients and choice meats, complemented by superb wines make for a dining experience you will not forget. The owner Nick truly knows his stuff, and is one of the nicest guys you could meet. Love the casual but authentic atmosphere, and the staff are always friendly and provide excellent service. Truly a must do gastric experience.

A hidden gem! Atmosphere is quaint and casual, very personal (Nick the owner always comes and talks with folks) with good wines and great food! I’ve been here many times and always look forward to finding an excuse to come again!

Excellent food. We had the paella, stuffed mushrooms, and a salad. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Thecost wad $60 for 2 people for that good and a carafe of sangria. Excellente.
The food was very good as well as the service. Many menu choices. We had 8 plates and each one was very good. The stuffed dates and kabob were my favorites. CCW allowed.
Tapas Calpe is a culinary treat! If you are a food and wine enthusiast this should be your "go-to place". The owner Nick and his son John make you feel right at home and the menu had eclectic dishes from around the world. We enjoyed the best tres leches cake from guest Baker Julio this evening. Give it a try you won't be disappointed!

Nice atmosphere and great customer service, but overpriced for what you get. We had the meat and cheese (sparse and dry), stuffed mushrooms (cream cheese, that's all w/balsamic dressing) and crab cakes (undercooked and somewhat mushy). I wanted to love this place as it's in my neighborhood, but unfortunately I've had better.
