Mar 1 2024 My wife and I stayed 2 days in Fort Stockton. After checking out of hotel looked up a place to eat. Taco OJ came up on the search. When we got there the parking lot was full, so we thought it was a winner. 1. We were seated, service staff cleaned off table. Ordered drinks, we ordred coke. Service staff said we dont have coke only the Mexican drinks, but we sat next to the cooler and, you can see they had coke in the bottles not a good start. Food order: My wife ordered specialty of the day. Oysters, and a Ceviche type dish. Oysters came out, but looked flat in the shell, flipped one over it was, like a gooey mess. Found out they had been previously frozen, but no idea how long, 1 week, or 6 months. The Ceviche dish came out with the shimp raw in the bowl. From my understanding mixture should sit for 10 to 15min before serving. Service staff trying there best to make it seem like it was ok, thats how it should look. Sent the oyters back, did not eat any of the rest of the meal. Paid the bill anyway, keep it moving. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $30–50 Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2
Amazing food!! So glad we stopped here. Great atmosphere, we loved everything we ordered, and we were served by friendly staff who accommodated a dairy allergy with no trouble at all.

I recently dined at Tacos OJ’s and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. Despite being a patron, I never received a refill or was asked if I needed anything throughout my meal. I had to proactively call the waitress to place an order for dessert, which they didn’t have available. Additionally, I was informed that they were out of flavored sodas. The food wasn’t all that good or at least the red cheese enchiladas plate. Beans were on point. What struck me the most was the apparent preference for locals over other guests. It was disheartening to observe the staff’s lack of attention to non-local customers. Overall, I cannot recommend this Restaurant to those visiting from out of town. The lack of service and limited menu options make for a less-than-ideal dining experience. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20 Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4

Food was excellent as always, but the service was absolutely awful. Took forever to get chips and hot sauce. Asked for queso and when we finally got it, we had no chips. No refills on drinks, had to ask for silverware. The waitress was by herself, but there weren’t many people in the restaurant. Got there about 4:15. Worst experience ever. AVOID AVOID AVOID Experience at Tacos OJ was, unfortunately, the most disappointing we've ever encountered, a stark contrast to the high hopes we had for this well-situated establishment based on the reviews 1. **Delayed Service**: Our family dinner, ordered at 6:10 PM, arrived frustratingly late at 7:25 PM. While we understand that busy times can lead to delays, this wait time was excessive and impacted our evening plans. 2. **Subpar Food Quality**: The quality of the dishes was underwhelming. The tilapia appeared to be hastily fried from a chilled state, lacking in flavor and finesse. The tacos were missing their salsa, a small but crucial oversight, and the french fries were unfortunately soggy. These issues suggest a gap in kitchen attention to detail. 3. **Unexpected Additional Charges**: An unanticipated service charge of $2.55 was added to our bill, on top of the tax. This seemed to be a penalty for using a credit card, a detail not mentioned upfront. Transparency in pricing is crucial in customer service. 4. **Staffing Concerns**: The waitstaff seemed overwhelmed, a possible factor in the service and food quality issues. This is an area where management could potentially make improvements for smoother operations. 5. **Pricing Discrepancies**: The price point was on the higher end, especially for the location and the quality of food served. While we are willing to pay for high-quality dining, the cost here did not align even with the normal value expected. Despite these challenges, we believe that with dedicated effort and attention to these key areas, TACOS OJ has the potential to offer a much more satisfying dining experience. We hope to see positive changes in the future that could make this establishment a culinary stopping point. Service Take out Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

Loved this place! ❤️ I cannot say enough good things about this quaint little family place in Fort. Stockton. Some of the best tacos I have ever eaten. For this Texas girl who loves her Tex-Mex this place did not disappoint. The salsa was fresh and tasty. The rice and beans were cooked perfectly. The brisket flautas had an amazing flavor. The crema on too perfectly balanced the dish. The waitstaff was amazing. Great group! 10/10 would visit again! One of the best taco places we’ve come across while road-tripping. The food was delicious and generously portioned, the waitstaff was friendly and accommodating, and the bathrooms were clean. We'll definitely stop here again when we’re in the area! Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The best Mexican food I've had in a very long time, hands down! Service was great and attentive. It is not the cheapest place but well worth it for sure. I had Papas Asada with brisket and it was delicious. Plates are big, had left overs for one more meal easily. I highly recommend this place if you like Mexican dishes! Was well below the average experience. I have a lot of things to say: 1. They increased prices "due to the recession". Can't say how much the food was before, but at this price it isn't worth it. Most dishes are $15, when I've gotten *much better* Mexican food for far less. 2. The waiter spilled water on us. 3. Food took at least 15 minutes and it wasn't that good. The combo plate is pretty much a pile of sauce and cheese, apart from the taco. The chili thing seems to be some pepper covered in fried batter. Tasted very strange. 4. The first basket of chips and salsa is free, every subsequent one is $2. 5. Service is average. The only utensil they provide is a fork, you have to *ask* for a knife. Some of the dishes require using a knife. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20 Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2
