I usually don’t write reviews about restaurants, if I don’t like the service or food I just don’t go back. Taco Palenque in Weslaco doesn’t have any type of friendly service (NONE). Took us and others over 45 minutes to get our food TO GO in the dining room. Drive thru would have been a lot faster. 3 of us customers were annoyed that it was taking so long. Then when we got our food there was food all over the outside wrappers. The gentleman who took our orders looked annoyed to be there and was also the same guy who packed our food and by the way our food came out he really showed it. This location is very nice and quiet, not much action going on for a Friday very nice and peaceful dinner. I enjoyed my fajita plate, and my husband ordered the Enchilada swisas, which were very good too. As far as breakfast they have nice and good tacos. Ordered a caldo de res through the drive thru, when we got to the window they had the incorrect order, we waited 15 minutes for one regular sized caldo. Opened it up less than 5 minutes later, not only was it cold, the veggies were not cut down a whole lot, and there was NOT ONE piece of meat! Waste of money and time. 30 mins in line for soup out of the can flavor. No seasoning and service is absolutely horrible. They brought me the wrong order and didn't what went with who. I love this place I always get chicken fajitas for me and my husband gets beef fajitas taco. I was there 2 days ago and they gave me dried chicken which for sure leftover from earlier the day. Stopped in here for lunch while passing through town. This place was fantastic! Everything was cooked fresh and was well prepared. The flour tortillas were handmade and awesome. Steak fajita tacos were wonderful, with flavorful, juicy steak that was perfectly cooked. There is a salsa bar with many options. Also, they have complementary chips available. Their chips are my favorite kind – nice and thick, very crispy and hold up well for dipping salsa! Highly recommended. Nasty as heck I never had a problem I loved getting the burritos from here just this time that I got them there was Ants in my burrito and I was disgusted then I call to let them know and I was hung up on which made me a little bit more upset then when they finally answered I had to drive all the way back for them to remake the food.. very upsetting hopefully they get better on keeping there area clean so this doesn’t happen to anyone else.

I freaking love this place. I spend more than I want to every time, but it is just so good. Salsa bar is fantastic. Gotta love that guac sauce. I want to eat my way through the menu, but between the nachos, pirata, and fajitas burrito, I can't find the time or stomach space. My whole family loves it. No small feat with my difficult to feed kids.
