They can speak English, what was good. The fish soup had shrimp inside but they didn't say or ask about allergies. The steak of chef was something like barbecue, it was very good. We had to try the Caldo Verde, traditional Portuguese green caggage soup, only available here in Portugal! It was wonderful, in a light flavorful broth. We added the olive plate and bread, chourica de Carne Assada, salad and beef tenderloin. Topped off with coffee and crumble cake with berry sauce and ice cream... ALL were fantastic! Might be the best meal we have had in our 3 weeks in Greece, Spain and Portugal! Excellent food, service and outdoor ambiance on the Lima River!

If you want to enjoy a premium location to see the sunset come to this restaurant. Regarding the rest, we thought food was overpriced with relation to the quality. Feels more a place targeted for tourists. Meal type Dinner Price per person €20–25 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

The staff were so kind and they have an option vegan and other vegetarian, but some of the things that they have are vegetarian “by mistake” hahaha (is my way to say it) I hade the vegan option and a little tapa of AMAZING shiitake mushrooms with chestnut 😍

Very cozy and cool place. Nice coffees and good confectionery. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Cheap. Clean bathrooms. Good views and big car parking just in front of the restaurant.

We sat down for diner; an older waiter brought us the menu card; some time later a younger waiter brought a plate with tapas and small plate pulpa. Regarding the tapas nothing was explained to us. The waiter only said in English: eat what you like. We ordered with the older waiter a fish soup and salmon steak. What we ordered was clear. However, when we received the bill, it turned out that they charged us some 24 euro for the tapas and small plate pulpa. This is in our opinion not correct. The waiter should have explained the cost of each tapa and the ingredients. By the way, we speak fluent Spanish and English, so there could not have been a language barrier. This felt like a trick! Taberna Cadeia Velha has always been a favorite of ours. The spectacular location with a view of the Rio Lima and bridge, the well-prepared food, and the friendly service make for a very satisfying dining experience. And now, with a recently expanded menu featuring culinary delights cooked to perfection, this restaurant is exceptional. Muito obrigado!
