I’ve been a member with Sutter for over 10 years. A great place for whites & reds. I bring a lot of my family and friends who are visiting from overseas to Napa for wine tasting. The staff is friendly and their prices are some of the best in the Napa region.
Sutter Home has very good moscatos and other sweeter white wines. Some of my favorites are the Muscat of Alexandria, Pink Moscato Bubbly and Reserve White Zinfandel.
One of my all time favorites was a limited production of their brandy, which hasn’t been available for a while (but I heard it may be coming back). They produce it for their port, but I’m hoping they can bring it back soon, because it was that good.
There new motto should be we are open but don't want to work. I have been to sutter house a few times before for context. Walked in 3pm on a weekday and magically no cars in the lot and they have no tastings. Feedback from staff were our website is outdated and no more walk ins are accepted. They had 5 staff and no one in there. I laughed and got a bottle of their wine from Walmart instead.
Zinfandel Port was really nice, as well as the bubbly rose! Generally very sweet wines. They have a great large gift shop and beautiful little garden with gazebo!
We stopped in right before closing and the staff were still so accommodating and kind. Those guys were the Sweetest!
We rried a couple of wines and I loved the $2 sample size bottles. They are truly big enough to really enjoy and savor your choice.
The setup inside was cute.
We stopped by after calling 3 times to make reservations, no one picked up the phone from 11-1pm. We got there at 1, the young lady said they were fully committed because they had a party at 2pm. There was literally ONE couple in the tasting room that she was helping! 4 cars in the parking lot and I told her I had been calling for a while but no one picked up! She then proceeded to say I can give you a glass of wine I declined and we left!
If the staff would have answered the phone then we could have made a reservation! However I feel that they could have accommodated us it was only one couple in there with 3 people working, it doesn’t take an hour for 5 tastings.
