Used to be called hakuna matata but they are in the process of changing to Sunbird, so dont be confused! You can see sunbird painted in the inside. The menu showed on google is accurate (sept 2023). Lovely staff. Even made a special meal for me. It's very affordable in comparison to the rest of Kendwa.

We have been here several times for lunch and dinner. Fish (tuna and kingfish) as well as octopus and calamari are fresh daily. The dishes are well prepared, tasty and inexpensive. The price of seafood with fries or rice and salad is 15000TZS or $6. Fruit juices cheapest around 2500 TZS ($1). It's clean here, the service is smiling, contact and friendly. The place doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside it is clean and air-conditioned. This is the best place for nice and affordable food in Nungwi and Kendwa . You cannot pay by credit card and there is no toilet. I definitely recommend it. The restaurant has changed its name to Hakuna Matata Cafe and is located next to Villa Vanilla Kendwa

Amazing food, i stayed nearby and ate here almost daily. The favorites are spicy octopus and the kuku and chips. The staff is very friendly. Make sure you check it out while you are in Kendwa!!

Dinner was lovely here with a sweet staff and small intimate setting. We enjoyed their grilled marlin which was juicy and cooked well. We had both options with rice and fries (chips) the fries were fresh cut and fried nicely. This was one of the most delicious and affordable meals we have had in zanzibar and tanzania overall

I was to Kendwa Rocks Hotel in June 2023 with my sister. I décide to eat In this restaurant, the workers are very smiling and kind, I cry when I leave Kendwa because all of this I will miss. Thank u for all, the food is very good, property and halal 🫶🏽

We stumbled across this place by accident and ate there for almost every meal afterwards while in Kendwa! A hidden gem with lovely food, big portions, tasty juices, low prices and friendly people. Thank you Simon!

В последний день отдыха посетили и это заведение. Похоже на местное небольшое кафе. Заказыли осьминога с картошкой фри. Осминог очень вкусный , но его совсем мало в сравнении такого же блюда в других заведениях. От этого и цена чуть ниже чем везде
