I rarely give places a 5/5 stars, but this place most certainly earned it! The baristas were honest about which drinks would accommodate my preferences, they were very helpful and provided quick service. The rainy day latte tasted just like a werthers, and the price was super cheap compared to most coffee shops, especially for the amount of late given. The aesthetics were calming and interesting without being overwhelming. It was one of cleanest coffee shops I have been to in a long time, and smelled amazing. I just wish I would have gotten something to eat! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I wouldn’t recommend this place if you actually like the flavor of coffee. I’ve given this a place a few tries because the atmosphere is great and the baristas are sweet. But I can’t get past how bad their drinks are to me. There’s no coffee taste at all in the lattes- they’re such a light color and it tastes like drinking flavored milk. I tried a frozen drink today and it was so sickeningly sweet. Again, no coffee taste present. Just sweet, thick, and syrupy. I wish I enjoyed it more because it’s a great location and place to study but it just isn’t for me. They do have refreshers and baked goods that might be good.

We steer clear of coffee chains. This place is a one-off which we prefer over Star$$$ chain. Coffee is just as good, if not better. They have more coffee options and the barista can make changes if needed. Liked their dessert options although at 5 pm, the choices were getting slim but at least, the desserts were made in-house (not purchased from Costco). Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Best coffee shop in Tuscaloosa! They have something for everybody- coffee, energy drinks, shakes, bakery items, and ice cream! The interior is fresh and cozy, and there is also outdoor seating if you prefer. The baristas are always polite and hard working. I go once or twice a week and have never had a bad experience. And the coffee is DELICIOUS. Miles better than Starbucks! My go-to is the albino rhino, with blueberry cold brew. You can really taste the blueberry flavor. This place is a great addition to Tuscaloosa!! The blueberry cake was DELICIOUS. My Drunk Squirrel (hazelnut and kahlua flavored) latte was well-balanced — not overly sweet, but you can totally taste the flavors and the coffee. Lots of flavors and snacks to choose from, and a great “Specialty Drinks” menu. Staff was also super friendly and helpful! I’ve even heard whispers that they may soon be open late-night, which Tuscaloosa desperately needs :) Service Dine in Meal type Other Price per person $1–10
Strange Brew has been my go-to since they opened and they have a wide variety of menu items and change out their pastry offerings regularly—great for someone who likes to try new things. The baristas are always amazing and I usually don’t have to wait very long even when they are busy. Love it! Service Take out Price per person $1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Good coffee, but it was a bit overpriced, and they don’t offer a student or military discount like most the other coffee shops I’ve been to in Tuscaloosa do. A small BSB frappe was 5.71. I wish the menu would have had prices listed.
My sister and I ordered 2 lattes, and neither was a latte in any way, look or taste. Admittedly, we should have been wary of this shop when the vast majority of the menu was flavored coffee drinks and very few traditional espresso-based drinks. Based on watching the preparation and process of making the lattes, it seems like the management/owners need to provide proper training for their employees. If you're looking for flavored coffee drinks that cover up the taste of espresso, this is probably your place. If you're looking for traditional espresso-based drinks without the flavoring, I would go elsewhere.

Cute little coffee shop on the strip with a nice atmosphere, plenty of available seating and good music! My only complaint is about the bathroom, it was quite dirty when I was there and the sink handle had dirt caked under it. Other than that it's a cool place to go to. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
This place is amazing and the coffee is to die for! It's small on the inside but it's very cozy. Strange Brew is an awesome addition to The Strip and Tuscaloosa! It's only been open since yesterday yet it's packed! So glad for the business owners! Roll Tide! 🐘 Meal type Breakfast Price per person $10–20
