The pizza I ordered had bits of clay left over on the bottom, but honestly that's not a big deal. The food overall was good and delicious. The atmosphere was nice, the service was good and the drinks were yummmm. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Tiramisu

Just returned from Italy and then enjoyed a delicious Italian lunch here in Bellingham. Tasty pasta and the focaccia was great. Nice place to sit outside protected from the wind and with table center flame. Dog friendly outside. Dinner for four @ Storia Cucina was good, not great! Our server was terrific, don’t get me wrong, just the food was a bit disappointing. The Caprese Tigelle was terrific, especially for four bucks at HH, but the Homemade Focaccia was a huge disappointment. My experience with focaccia in the past has been one of a lighter color, airy texture, and made for balsamic/olive oil dipping. What I encountered @ Storia was a very dense, grey in color (almost non-appetizing) “heavy” bread that simply should have been a meal in itself, it was just tooooooo heavy. The meatballs were tasty and the pizza was ok, I just wish this would have been a 5 Star experience, (for a meal costing $185.00 for four) it wasn’t unfortunately. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50 Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
Sadly we had already eaten but it looked spectacular & smelled even better. We had some delicious cocktails & are definitely coming back!! We came back the next day cause I couldn’t get the smells & sights out of my mind. They did not disappoint!! We ordered the focaccia with burrata but I was so excited that I forgot to take a picture, it was absolutely delicious!! The pizza was everything we wanted it to be. My friends squid ink pasta dish had a fantastic smell & he enjoyed it thoroughly. Definitely worth a couple of visits!! this is sour sourdough pizza, it wasn’t as notable when accompanied with toppings, it was far more apparent at the crust we had to wait about 15min longer than we were quoted. all in all the pizza and service was decent, I’d give them another chance Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Wild Mushroom Pizza
Storia Cucina is a contemporary Italian restaurant. The food is surprisingly delicious and authentic, with subtle yet well-crafted flavors that showcase the expertise and balance of the chefs. From drinks, appetizers, main course, and desserts, everything is satisfying and enjoyable. The restaurant is very busy, which is a testament to its popularity and quality, and the service is fairly friendly and attentive, even if they seem a little overwhelmed at times. Storia Cucina is a great place for small-party special occasions or to celebrate an accomplishment with a good meal. I recommend it to anyone looking specifically for Italian cuisine. We travel from Seattle to Vancouver 3x to 4x per year, and often stop in Bellingham on the way. When we do we often eat at Storia. Storia is very consistent and very good. We stick to their best menu items which are their pasta and pizza crust. On our most recent trip we had the seasonal pesto garden pizza, and the 'truffle' mushroom gnocchi. The pizza was excellent and in fact I'll say I've never had a bad pizza here. The crust is perfect and it's hard to ruin with toppings so long as you keep to fresh ingredients, which they do. The truffle mushroom gnocchi was a disappointment. There was no discernible truffle flavor at all. The soupy sauce caused the gnocchi to swell up and become soggy and mushy. That said, if they marketed this as a 'vegetarian clams in white wine sauce with capers' I would think that this could be a very successful dish so long as they could figure out how to prevent the gnocchi from getting mushy. That said I'm very surprised that this dish did not turn out well. This is a very uncharacteristic experience among our dozens of visits over the years. I had high hopes for this place but ambiance and price of the food does not match the taste and overall experience. We waited 50 minutes for pasta and pizza, 50 minutes while restaurant was 20% full. Pasta was okay and pizza had 0 seasoning, i had to ask for a salt to add some enjoyment to it. Waiter was helpful but showed no concern about keeping us waiting for so long while getting very average food. And of course considering all above it is overpriced for what we got.
