Just went there on a random reference from someone working at Home Depot. Chinese New Year has just passed and I missed NYC - the guy suggest I should try Spicy Chen but not to get anything too spicy. I thought that beats the point. So we went there and it met expectations. Most Chineses places have disappointed me here but this did not. It’s appearance in Traditional which I like, neat and clean nicely spaced so patrons have space. It was not to Full for a Friday evening but I think they have a brisk takeout/deliver. I had a seafood dish and my hubby veg General TAos it was pretty good though a bit sweet for me. Their sautéed green beans were on the mark too. Reminded of NY Chinatown. Portion sizes were good too, brought half home. I will come back for sure. Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
Let me tell yall this I had a wonderful experience 10/10. I went in and order my food to go. I ordered the lunch orange chicken subbing the soup for an egg roll! The food was delicious! The egg roll was fresh, big, and juicy! The whole entire meal was hot and tasted fresh! I like how all of my to-go utensils and additional items were bagged separately and not just thrown in the bag. The place looked cleaned and the customer service was exceptional! If this review inspires you to give them a chance, I hope that your experience will be better than mine! I tried to add pics. I will try again. If you are a rice person...add you an extra order of that fried rice! Thank you for making my lunch and experience with you worthwhile! Being relatively new to an area makes finding good Chinese food super hard. After trying multiple different places in the area and being let down I tried Spicy Chen and it’s AMAZING. I cannot speak to the service inside as I only ever order take out but I have not been let down once. My favorite has to be the Singapore Rice Noodles. Definitely give them a try if you’re having a hard time finding good Chinese. This is now my go to place! Service Take out Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Spicy Chen Chinese Restaurant offers a mixed experience that lands squarely in the middle with a three-star rating. The establishment boasts prompt and friendly service, creating a welcoming atmosphere for patrons. The staff's warmth and efficiency contribute positively to the dining experience. The menu showcases popular Chinese-American dishes, including sesame chicken, sweet and sour chicken, sweet and sour soup, and egg rolls. While the dishes are served hot, the flavors lack the anticipated vibrancy and excitement that one might expect from a restaurant named "Spicy Chen." The overall taste of the food falls short of delivering the promised boldness and pizazz, leaving diners with a somewhat bland impression. The sesame chicken, though adequately prepared, lacks the fiery kick that one might associate with a dish carrying the label "spicy." Similarly, the sweet and sour chicken, while well-cooked, lacks the nuanced blend of tanginess and sweetness that sets exceptional versions of this classic dish apart. The sweet and sour soup offers comfort but doesn't stand out in terms of flavor complexity. The egg roll, a staple in Chinese cuisine, is satisfying but doesn't leave a lasting impression. In summary, Spicy Chen Chinese Restaurant offers a pleasant dining experience with efficient service and hot dishes. However, the overall flavor profile of the food lacks the boldness and pizazz that one might expect, resulting in a middle-of-the-road three-star rating. Our favorite Chinese place in the area. Try the Mango/Chicken dish it’s amazing. Hands down the best hot n sour soup. Wish they wouldn’t charge me $1 per Jalepeno though Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
My wife and I came here after a badminton match to try out the Asian cuisine, and were very pleased with the taste of the food. My wife ordered the garlic chicken lunch special while I ordered the Singapore style chicken with the angel hair pasta. Would love to come back here again and try out the other cuisines. My son and I ate here. We had the General Tso chicken & Orange chicken. Both were delicious. Properly seasoned, cooked just right. Very generous portions, neither one of us was able to finish our plates. Wait staff are friendly and attentive. Nice mellow atmosphere on Saturday evening. We'll be back. Been here before, stopped here last night for a pickup. The lady at the front was nice enough. The men working typically don't say too much. They have the front locked off, which is very different than when I was there last time, but that was pre covid. Portions are reasonable, prices are okay. They have a pretty good selection of food. I ended up getting the chicken with asparagus and adding extra vegetables to that for an additional dollar. My husband got some other spicy chicken thing and added vegetables on the side for an additional $2. We didn't have to wait long once our food was ordered, maybe 5 to 7-minutes. It was overall a good place to stop and get a quick meal for pick up later in the night. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

For five years I have kept this place my secret until tonight. I’ve decided to share my secret—the best place for egg drop soup, wonton soup and egg rolls. It’s not always the exact same, but pretty close — and always better than everywhere else. No matter how far I move away, if I’m ever in this area, I have to stop and get a soup. I’ve actually gotten soup here dozens and dozens of times, and all takeout—never dined in. I cannot attest to any of their other food. I only had a regular entrée once five years ago and it was takeout. I remember the entree being small for the price. I would recommend trying entrées from their lunch menu. Just like everywhere else, the price has gone up over the years. Hours do tend to change. Call before you go. Service Take out Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20
