A lot of locals don't care for this place but I've never had a bad meal here. Service is spotty at times but other than that it's pretty consistent. The rolls are the reason to go but honestly they have a good salad bar and the spuds are great too. Overall not a bad place. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20

Anytime I've come to Orange over many years. You can always count on this place to deliver. This is where the locals go. The brisket sandwich here is fantastic. Sadly where I live in Florida they charge twice the price with no smoke. Always a pleasure to come back to this place. Thank you. Spanky’s has been in business for decades. The food and service here has always been above and beyond what you might expect from a typical restaurant. If you are in Orange you should definitely come eat here. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The food was delicious and the service was the best I've had anywhere. Appetizers: gator bites, fried mushrooms, and mozzarella sticks. I had the sirloin with loaded backed potato and bacon wrapped asparagus. I only wish I knew what everyone else tipped. I gladly gave 20 and she deserved that from everyone at the table. Thank you ma'am. If I am ever in town again I hope you are still there to make up for anyone who didn't tip your worth. The majority of the food here is bought in frozen in plastic bags, most notably the mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, and vegetable; all reheated in those same plastic boil bags. The shrimp, fish, beef and chicken are also bought in frozen aside from some of the cuts of steak. Frozen shrimp and fish thawed out by soaking in water, ultimately water logging them. Just countless shortcuts in the cooking processes that sacrifice quality and freshness. The cleanliness of the food storage is also questionable. I recall raw chicken stored improperly, without a top, and around other food prep that had been stored without a lid or proper cover. I know several people who reported not having to wear food safety gloves during prep and cooking while working there which is unsanitary and concerning considering my friends and family have eaten here. The owner Mike is rude, delusional and unprofessional. Mike will lose his temper and has the some of the staff walking on eggshells. Do yourself a favor and stop wasting an hour waiting on the food here. It’s not worth the time or money. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

We really enjoyed it! Had the chicken fried steak, kids burger, fries, onion rings, boiled shrimp with tater and corn, and salad bar. Everything was very good. Any place that has a fresh salad bar with options gets our attention and business. We will return. Try it! My 3rd visit here. And I will be back!! Got a baked potato this time and I stuffed myself. It was delicious! Boyfriend got the taco salad and he was very happy with it.. AMAZING! From the staff service, food, and drinks this place is on point. Our party had the mahi-mahi, bacon burger, Mac & cheese, and the 3#crawfish plate with corn and a potato. All were super impressed with their dinner. Absolutely would recommend this place.

Spanky's is an institution in Orange. For many years, they have consistently served the best southeast Texas dishes, with obvious love and passion for what they do. The etouffe blackened catfish with grilled veggies is a personal favorite dish (pictured), and you can't go wrong with anything else on the menu. You have to try this place.
