Wow! The reviews were absolutely awesome. The portions of sushi were truly unbelievable. I normally can feel comfortable with 4 rolls…. I had to take half of my order home as the meal was plentiful. Fresh salmon, fresh tuna, fresh eel… all prepared in the specific rolls and were just really tasty and fresh. The service and staff are warm and friendly. Oh. And being new in the area… it is a quaint restaurant with all new and updated inside for sure…. Truly a local treasure I’m sure.
Soons is a hidden gem in a neighborhood in Kenosha. You'd never think this tiny little building would serve sushi that tastes as good as this does! Soon works every day and is as hands on as any employee she has. They make you feel like family every time you walk through the door. We go for the sushi, our most recent visit I ordered shrimp fried rice and wish I hadn't waited so long, it was amazing. Stop in while you can, it seems they will be closing their doors in 2023, definitely a loss to the town of Kenosha. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Great atmosphere, great host. So much food per roll and such great, high quality rolls. Soon came out and talked to us and she was so genuine and sweet. They really take care of you here and by far best sushi in Kenosha. I'm a big guy and couldn't finish my rolls because it was so much food. Highly, highly recommend.

Came here because of a recommendation from a friend. We ordered miso soup, kimchi, fried octopus, shrimp fried rice, and dragon roll. The miso soup was good. Kimchi was spicy but wasn’t sour at all. Shrimp fried rice tasted like the only thing added was salt, and was mushy like the cook used freshly cooked rice. The fried octopus was ok, but the sauce didn’t really complement. The dragon roll was good, I really liked the grilled eel on top. Sushi is good, skip everything else.
I've been here before and have always loved it but this most recent time wasn't the greatest. I called an order in for pick-up and when I arrived, no one acknowledged me. There was a man doing something on a computer who looked right at me but did not signal anyone to assist. There were 3 people working on food that were in my line of site and someone else who appeared to be on their phone. After a little more than 5 minutes, the woman on her phone came up to me. My food has been done the whole time. Kind of disappointing customer service. There was only one other customer inside waiting for food so it's not as if they were busy. My next frustration comes in that they made one of my rolls wrong. It was supposed to have unagi sauce and fish eggs on top. I asked for no fish eggs and didn't get the sauce either. When I asked for sauce on the side, they gave me the smallest side cup I've seen. My guess is it was 1 oz. They charged me $1 for sauce that was supposed to be on my roll. My final frustration came from my order of Edamame. The soy bean pods were way over cooked and had no salt on them at all. They were so over cooked that they'd lost their vibrant green color and were instead grayish. I was so disappointed. They just didn't taste good. I did give Soon's four stars because I've been here before and haven't had any issues but its been a couple years. I was so excited to learn they re-opened, unfortunately, the experience wasn't what I'd remembered. The sushi, less what I mentioned above, was good. It just wasn't five star quality.
My first time trying this place out & wow it was wonderful. I was just a bit nervous before ordering because the prices was so high. I came here to try out the sushi & anything else on the menu. The wait time was long due to so many people being inside but when you do receive your meal it smells fantastic and taste so good! The only reason I gave it a 3 star is because the lady who took my order didn't bring all of it which was disappointing. I also noticed that finding parking is horrible because of how good that place is. Overall, it is good experience and I hope you try it out. Thanks for reading my review. Please. I’m begging Soon’s “sushi” lovers to get out of this town, have some GOOD AUTHENTIC sushi and then come back here and try this place. First there’s the outrageous price. They charged Nobu prices. The picture that has been added shows you what $100 of Soon’s sushi gets you. If you don’t care about your taste buds enough to treat them kindly, you might as well save some money and get yourself sushi from your local kwik trip. Biting into one of their baked mussels was reminiscent of those old peppermint patty commercials. However, instead of having the sensation of being magically transported to the top of an icy Everest I felt as if I was dunked down into a dirty seaworld fish tank. Seriously people! How are the reviews so high??!! For everyone who hates sushi because it tastes too fishy or slimy- it’s not supposed to!!! However from eating here you’d never guess that. I have a roller coaster of emotions after eating here…1st disgust, followed by confusion, then anger and now finally sadness. Sadness for the masses that gave this place anything but the 1 star it deserved. And a mix of deeper sadness & pity that whoever these 5 star reviewers are actually thought this is what good sushi tastes like.
My family and I have been going here for 15+ years and it’s still the best sushi I’ve ever had. I’ve been to many sushi restaurants in Milwaukee, Chicago, Los Angeles, Orlando, and all over the US and Soon’s still takes the cake for me. Bob and Soon are the sweetest. Generous roll-size, amazing flavor combinations, great service. Highly recommend. 👏

So, I had heard this was a good place, and I also heard that it was going to close soon due to the owner wanting to retire. So my wife and I decided to try it before that happened. The food was very good. I was surprised that the chicken fried rice had a bit of spice to it, but it was delicious. Maybe a little more chicken, but still, great. The Futomaki roll was one of the best I've had. Shrimp tempura roll was good. The tempura appetizer of fried shrimp and veggies with the dipping sauce was very good as well. Soup came with it and it was OK. All in all a very good choice. I will say the prices were a bit high, but it was quality food.
