First time every being in this bar and I absolutely love it. My next trip to Alton this bar will definitely be on my list to return too .Steve is an awesome bartender and so knowledgeable.

A lovely little spot to stop into, might be greeted by a doggo, find amazing conversation, make friends, play with chalk art, and be scolded by a teacher (playfully... I think...) Wine list is by the glass, can also purchase the bottle and enjoy it at a hightop table or one of the amazing lower conversational chairs. Mr. Bunbury would be most pleased with the location and fare.

Solera is the best spot in Alton to get some tasty wine at a great price! You can even buy it at retail prices and take bottles home with you for your personal collection! The staff and owners are all great people and very knowledgeable about their products; and the atmosphere is comfortable and casual, which is perfect for my wife and I!

We had a wonderful and very educational evening at one of their sponsored wine tastings. Excellent selection of wines from Matchbox of California! Great values at very reasonable prices. We hope they do well in their new distribution efforts in our area. Solara has a comfortable, attractive and interesting environment, making it a great place to socialize with friends and meet new people interested in good wine (They have some outstanding specialty beers too!). We love Solara and all the folks who host us there!!!

Spent Sunday afternoon here! Had a wonderful red wine and a cheese plate with huntsman cheese, chorizo, olives and crackers! It was so good!! Finished with honeyfoam, kind of like a butterfinger but better! Great place to hang out, can’t wait to go back!

Solera is a great new wine and craft beer bar in downtown Alton. The space may be small, but it is extremely attractive and inviting. Very tasteful decor. The entry is recessed which allows for tables and seating outdoors in addition to the table and bar seating inside. They offer a selection of wine varieties from different regions. Wine by the glass and/or bottle are both available. Their craft beer offerings have been thoughtfully selected to please whatever style is your preference. During our visit, Trevor was behind the bar and his knowledge, helpfulness, and friendly service were greatly appreciated. Those seeking a more upscale experience are sure to enjoy the selections and atmosphere at Solera.

Great spot. Beautiful renovation of an old building in historic downtown Alton. Top notch selection on wine. Good choices on local and craft beers. Does not serve other liquor besides beer and wine which is not a problem since there are plenty of choices for palate. Alton definitely needed a wine bar, and they are a wonderful and welcome addition.

Great place and Trevor very knowledgeable and picked a great wine and cheese selection tonight Thursday 2.2.18 He also agreed to allow my German Shepherd be with us in outdoor area. Awesome place
