First time here for dinner. We started with the famous cheese bread, which was great and the stuffed mushrooms which were pretty good, but a little oily. I had the bone-in New York with stuffed potato. My husband and son had the Smokehouse Prime Rib with a potato as well. My steak and the prime rib were all cooked perfectly and seasoned well. We got there a little early for our reservation and I'm glad we did as I didn't realize how sparse street parking was, but we opted for the full experience and paid for valet on their lot. We were seated in the main room with the full bar and small stage at a booth. If you're short like me, the booth is fairly uncomfortable because you sink in quite a bit, and the table is pretty high. They had someone going around consistently checking in on your experience, and food/ drinks was nice because our actual waitress was very busy, but we didn't feel like the service was lacking. Great food busy night so I know the servers were super busy, but we were looking for our silver a few times throughout the night. We went there on Christmas Eve. The restaurant was decked with old timey Christmas decor that transports you back 50 years. The ambience was great, but expect mediocre food. The prime rib was tender, but half of the portion is inedible (fat, gristle, etc). Everything was extremely salty: the garlic bread, the ribeye i ordered, and the rice pilaf. Maybe that's just how much sodium people of a certain age group/generation are accustomed to? The steaks are served with a festive, deep fried onion ring. The prime rib doesn't get that. Steamed vegetables come in a generous portion, and that was the only part on my plate i finished. I left my rib eye virtually untouched. This is the kind of place you take your grandparents to or if you dine ironically. But make sure to drink lots of water before & after.
