The entrées were good, with excellent portions. The winter salad was delicious. The service was underwhelming. If I choose not to have a cocktail, please don't make me feel like I should consider wine or beer. Pushing alcohol is just not ok. DOES NOT FOLLOW ADA LAW — Imposed illegal restrictions on my service animal. I entered with my service animal without his vest as a sit down dining environment doesn’t involve him being close to large quantities of people and he would likely attract more attention if he was wearing it. This is a common occurrence for me. I was asked if he was a service animal, to which I said yes. I was then guided to a table. Before long, I was informed by the hostess that the manager had informed her he had to be vested. I clarified that was not true and that the ADA dictates no service animal will be required to wear any identifying item. I soon entered a conversation with the manager, who despite being shown the ADA website saying as such, insisted that it was restaurant policy. When I mentioned that federal regulations overrule policies of business open to the public, she persisted that “an email went out to all the restaurants a year ago regarding the policy change.” I tried to ask what she was talking about because the state legislature has made no such change, but I was simply told that she was just following the rules. I conceded at this point but I could not move to the back patio or return to my car to fetch his vest due to my health condition being impacted by the frankly upsetting conversation combined with having walked from my car just a moment before. I asked for some time to get my condition back under control or risk fainting, and was allowed that much. It took me several minutes to get my heart rate back under control as it had reached dangerous heights. In the ten minutes or so it took, I was not once approached by anyone, let alone allowed to at least get my order put in before I went to my car. I eventually went and nearly fell on my return due to dizziness. I was finally served after ten more minutes and received decent coffee with bitter tasting French toast. I barely took two bites before stopping and just felt nauseated by the whole experience. It took another thirty minutes to actually get the waitress’ attention for the check, and she only asked if I wanted a box for the barely touched food, which I declined. Overall, I sincerely hope that the owners take a hard look at their policies regarding disabled patrons and service animals, seeing as it seems not a single person there was even familiar with the basics of the ADA. Food is fairly good but seriously the service here sucks. They don’t have enough staff to run a fluid lunch or dinner. The long waits would be fine if you, as a customer, were also not rushed. Today going in for a little working lunch, as I was by myself they refused to seat me at a table that was wide open and perfect, only to say they could only seat me at a crowded bar. So I had to leave. What a frustrating way to make your customers feel horrible and ruin your whole atmosphere. Meal type Lunch Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

Only giving 3 stars because most of our drinks, brussel sprouts and our waitress were great. The food however was just awful. My friend ordered a bowl of beef stew and received a cup of it not a bowl, so when we got that corrected the bowl she was brought had NO beef in it My sandwich was so bland I couldn’t eat it. Oh and the bartender was new & in training on a SATURDAY night and couldn’t make good drinks, she made one that was terrible and our waitress had to go back and make it (she did awesome). Next time I will go just for drinks and maybe an app!

We've frequented Skylark's a few times now, it's a Bellingham favorite of ours. Both breakfast and lunch options are great! All the food has been fantastic! The sandwiches and burgers are a great choice for lunch and the French toast and biscuits and gravy are nice for breakfast. The service has also been first-rate each time, even when busy. Great location! Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes blt
The music by JP Falcon Grady & Band on a Saturday evening was terrific! 5 Stars for the music! The food unfortunately left a bit to be desired. My burger was over cooked, the fish and chips were meh. We were hoping for more. Don’t get me wrong, the vibe was perfect, the bartender was excellent, the live music as stated previously was terrific, just next time we’ll grab drinks and most likely eat elsewhere. It’s too bad, we were really hoping for more and we know Skylarks can produce better, they just need to “want” to stand out from the many other really good restaurants in town, but it seems they are satisfied in staying in the middle, unfortunate. Pure Fairhaven charm. This place has fantastic food and oozes with character. A definite must-go to if you’re in the area. For breakfast, you cannot go wrong with their Monte Christo. Today I tried the crab cake Eggs Benedict and it was amazing. You also don’t want to miss their banana bread!! Their lunch and dinners are also very good including their award winning chowder.
The food was really good. The chef is top notch. One of the better brunches I've had in town. The service was terrible. It seems like the staff is untrained and the roles are all blended. The hostess was delivering water, the waitress was bussing tables and acting as a bar tender, the bus boy was looking very busy walking around, the manager was delivering coffee, and the bar tender was waiting tables. I would suggest that they are short staffed, but they weren't. Everyone that they needed was there. They simply had no leadership, no organization, no efficiency. We waited for 30 minutes before the food came out. I had to ask for coffee twice. I had to ask for the check twice, and I had to ask to pay the bill a few times. I know it was Mother's day and a little busy, but there were only a few full tables and the staff had lots of time for chit chat around the bar. The cafe atmosphere was nice, but a little noisy. The cafe and bar were decorated well with Mother's day themes. You could tell that a lot of thought went into it.
