This is one of my favourite Simply Asia dishes! 103,104,107 Corn cakes, chicken spring rolls, chicken skewers with peanut sauce and the pineapple basil seed drink! That is a meal for me! We frequently have Simply Asia. The Durbanville branch has a lovely ambiance whether you sit inside or outside. Service is good and food is great! This review is purely based on ordering sushi via delivery from Simply Asian Durbanville. Normally when I go there, the service is ok however, this experience really disappointed me. I ordered sushi via Mr. Delivery. When I opened the the holder, it looked as if someone just took whatever was available and threw it together. It was disgusting and I threw it away. So from now on, do not order via delivery, rather go in person or else you will end up disappointed like me. We have been visiting this Simply Asia for a while, and never have we received *service*, but today was by far the worst and the final straw. We will never return. Sat for close to 20 minutes, we were acknowledged at the door and told to seat ourselves. Okay, that happens. We pick a table, well within the view of the manager, and apparently the owner? Grumpy AF lady in a blue top, gym pants and sunglasses on her head. As soon as we sat down we noticed the tables around us looking around and uncomfortable. The kind of looking around that means they have been waiting for something. At least two other tables complained about slow service/no service. We got up, got stared at, still did not get offered any kind of service. We mentioned on our way out to the manager, casually leaning on the sushi bar, that this was really the worst we have ever experienced, and all we got was attitude. Kitchen staff was sitting in the kitchen, which explains why food here has never been up to standard as expected from Simply Asia. Fortunately, we didn't have an opportunity to try it today, but pretty sure it would be on the same level as this non-service. If I could it would be zero stars. It’s not the first time but tonight was the worst. Having been told to seat ourselves which is okay, in view of all staff and manager and the manager who jumped to clean tables for people it looked like she knew while we sat for +- 20 min not even receiving a menu or anyone acknowledging us. As we were waiting we heard the tables around us complain how long they’ve been waiting. At 19:52 we stood up, told the manager the service was terrible and as he was leaning on the sushi bar having a nice fat chat he gave attitude. We will never be returning.
