Do you want to eat AUTHENTIC thai food as the locals do? This is the place. The food is incredibly tasty, full of depth in flavor, spicy and real soulfood. (Real foodies: This place should go on the Migrationology foodie list.) Her food is immensely popular by locals: there are locals driving by (it’s not a place you stop randomly at, you have to know it and find it) nonstop to buy takeout food or have a quick lunch. Most options are sold out by 12, but she still has 1-2 options (usually) by 13.30. I’ve had many different curries here and they were all so delicious. North-Thaifood style you get served your rice and curry with raw herbs, cucumber, beans and chilisauce. If you like deep flavor and SPICY food, it’s for you! (I find 99% of food places on the island adapted to tourist expectations and that’s not authentic). The cute lady is always so impressed and happy that I eat her food. It’s streetfood and precooked but I never got get sick from her food. Food is very cheap, 50-70baht incl herb plate and icewater. No vegetarian options. (Ps. She has a bird that can say ”Sawadekaaaaa” and ”you’re beautiful” in thai 😍🤩)

Thai lady cooks a couple of meals each day and keeps them in big pots. You can then choose what you want to eat and they’ll serve it with rice. This kind of food is called “kao rahd gaeng”, ข้าวราดแกง). In the afternoon they switch to serving rice noodles (“kanom jeen”, ขนมจีน). The food is simple fare, cheap, but she cooks everything fresh daily and keeps things clean by street food standards. Have eaten here several days in a row and always enjoyed my meal, although on some days the dishes weren’t my favorite choice. The daily menu changes so you can stop by and see if there’s something you fancy. The lady speaks no English, but you can simply open the pots and point at what you like.
